Is the mouse too slow broken?Try adjusting the mouse DPI

In order to make our computers run faster, we try our best to optimize parts such as CPU, memory, hard drive, etc. If the mouse response is slow, many friends usually think that it is time to change to a new one. On the one hand, the mouse is cheaper, and many friends don't know that the mouse can also be optimized.

The mouse has a parameterCalled Dpi(dots per inch),Meaning:per inchofPointsIt represents the speed at which the mouse cursor or pointer moves across the screen versus the speed at which the mouse moves in physical space. The higher the DPI, the faster the mouse will move around the screen. If your mouse has a 16,000 dpi sensor and you set it to the maximum setting, you can almost touch the mouse and it will fly across your entire screen.

Most high-performance mice are designed for gaming, so the average gamer will only use a 16000dpi mouse, or even higher, gaming mice have a dpi adjustment button.

Ordinary office mice are generally 1600dpi and do not have a dpi adjustment button. But we can adjust the speed of the mouse reaction using the settings of Windows.

Open the Settings app by clicking the Windows key + I or by clicking the Start menu and selecting the settings gear icon on the left. Then navigate to the "Devices" mouse. At the top, you'll see a slider called "Cursor Speed". If the slider hasn't moved all the way to the right, you can drag it to the right to increase the speed and your mouse will be more responsive. You can adjust it repeatedly until you feel the right position.

As Microsoft gradually transitioned features from the Control Panel to the Settings app in Windows 10, the Control Panel remained.

You can also set the speed at which the pointer moves in the control panel - mouse to achieve the same effect.

In the mouse's properties window, select the Pointer Options tab and move the Select Pointer Speed slider left and right. The slider works the same as the cursor speed in the Settings app. In fact, if you maximize the Cursor Speed slider, you're also maximizing it in Pointer Options.

ReplaceHigh-performance mouse

If, no matter which way you choose, your mouse is still not fast enough after changing that setting, then it's time to replace a high dpi mouse (possibly a gaming mouse). It's usually a little easier to maximize speed on a professional mouse. Most of them have two buttons right below the scroll wheel, click the one below and the mouse will slow down a little and click the mouse at the top to speed it up.

If you don't meet the adjustment function of these two buttons, some manufacturers provide professional software. For example, if you're using a Razer mouse, Razer's Synapse software lets you set the mouse speed based on the DPI. You can choose from a variety of presets, or you can change the mouse speed manually. Most other high dpi mouse manufacturers offer similar software.

It's not hard to change the dpi on your mouse, but it will take you a bit of patience, and it may take several tries to find the speed that works best for you, so wouldn't it be nice if you could save the mouse you were about to throw away?
