BLG value
The magic of a restaurant
An open space always activates and drives urban renewal. The nearly 600-year-old BLG Haibitai store has created a miracle: a real estate project in a third-tier city that has become the hottest landmark has established a new model of promoting sales with artistic demonstration facilities - "Some people have bought houses here because they like to eat at restaurants and become neighbors with Chef Peter." ”
Ten years ago, Haibitai was known as a new area for real estate and supporting facilities, and now it is one of the most expensive locations along the coast of Qinhuangdao. As a key development project under Kerry Properties, BLG shares the Arts Centre building with other third spaces, adding cultural value to a larger estate project with the gallery and ancillary spaces, and providing a new lifestyle that is coveted by the vibrant roots of Haibi Terrace.
BLG's attributes are diverse, with restaurants catering to the residents of the Haibitai community and opening to the outside world, and gradually becoming a pleasant social place on the coast. It is a gathering place for local elites and business groups, and it has gradually become a hidden second home in the hearts of many foreigners.
Haibitai Project.
The overall planning of the project was designed by Moshe Safdie, and the building itself subversively uses elements such as building hollowing, stacked layer by layer setback, and sky bridges to make the humanistic architecture deeply compatible with the natural landscape.
BLG 2nd floor space.
During the epidemic period, the design took 3 months and the construction lasted for 2 months, and the design of TANZO Tianzuo Space completed the design of BLG French Restaurant (Haibi Tai Store). Contrary to the well-known myth of Aranya, Haibi Terrace is an enclave of ideal countries waiting for travelers to find a home after a long voyage at the end of their long voyage.
In the sea breeze of Bohai Bay, BLG creates a relationship between people, architecture and nature, which coincides with the life ideal proposed by architect Safdie half a century ago: a habitat that includes community, the connection between man and nature, and allows architecture to inspire a new way of life.
chapter 1
Shore boat
A building within a building
The designer has half-embedded a new building in the gray building box, a horizontal cylindrical structure composed of sleek façade and long strip windows, through which energy and light pass through the horizontal and vertical axes. This "parasitic" architectural technique is ecologically efficient, and the rebirth of old buildings and parasitic buildings evokes new imagination and meaning.
Landscape and man-made space, nature and imagination, Western architecture and poetic modern design emerge in layers of nested contrasts. In the imagination it is an ark, and the image of a ship always makes us feel at peace in the midst of chaos. And its closed but gently wrapped interior is also like the mother's womb, pregnant with the spiritual rebirth of Bohai Bay.
chapter 2
Bar
Space and people are solidified into a sea
Under the horizontal and vertical structural framework of the original building, we needed a large piece of glass to dialogue with the sea. "During the day, the stretches of sand and waves stretch into depth into solidified sacred sculptures. In the evening, the entire glass seems to disappear into the soft light of the indoor lighthouse, and the sand and waves break in the rhythm of the wind and flood the shore.
The semi-parametric intervention and the multi-curved interior of the bread cover achieve a "solidified sea", with a gray-white texture surface with a rough graininess of sea sand. The sand gathers into a tower, condensed into soft and winding waves, and the whiskey bar and the curved coffee bar in front of you are two floating islands on the surface of the sea of consciousness.
chapter 3
Chef's Restaurant
A homeland in a foreign land
The dark structure of the stairwell is a prelude to a sense of security, until the sun and sea breeze light up the eyes, the chef smiles brightly, and the scent of southwestern foie gras and Mediterranean oysters instantly makes you feel like a trance.
Panoramic view of the space on the second floor.
Kitchen area. The second-floor space is an "open" space to the sea, with a kitchen that occupies half of the space, the chef dressed in black with a black handmade brick backdrop, expensive but timeless copper pots and pans (from Italian brand La Optini) hanging above the bar, and aged beef in a fermentation cabinet to maximize the compound scent.
The smoky pink glass is the color of wine, roses, sunshine, and sunset, and the fishnet-like metal opens inward, allowing people to walk to the outdoor corridor, just like a castle from a hundred years ago to the modern day, shaking off the dust of the century.
The strip windows extend into a sleek vault inside, and tranquility is the aural experience of the moment. The sunlight that pours in is the holy light of the church, the light of the kitchen of Proust's home on a snowy night, and the untouched light of nature.
A warm symbiotic field
The restaurant has been in a state of vibrancy for two years, and the place also nourishes the space itself. The passion, health, and perseverance inherent in the owners and the restaurant are amplified through this scene, which is also the harvest of the design. "From 2022 to 2023, Haibitai will become one of the most vibrant business resort communities in the region, and it has also become a place where countless people belong to the spirit. The story of BLG is being rewritten by them.
