Health for All says
1.Rice should not be eaten with fruits and vegetables.
We all know that fruits and vegetables are foods rich in vitamins and fiber, which play an important role in the health of the body. However, when rice is eaten with fruits and vegetables, the chemical components of the two are prone to react, affecting the nutritional value of the food. In particular, vitamin C is easily oxidized and decomposed in a water-soluble, acidic environment, resulting in a greatly reduced nutritional value. Therefore, in order to maintain the integrity of vitamin C in fruits and vegetables, it is best to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables after eating rice.
2.Rice should not be eaten with cold food.
Cold foods include certain fruits, seafood, mung beans, etc., which have the effect of clearing heat and detoxifying, and quenching thirst. However, when eaten at the same time as rice, it can easily cause indigestion and even cause abdominal pain, diarrhea and other uncomfortable symptoms. Since rice is a warm and qi-invigorating food, while cold food has the effect of dissipating cold, the two cancel each other out and can easily lead to gastrointestinal disorders. Therefore, while eating rice, it is best to choose some warm foods, such as stewed soups, stir-fried meat with vegetables, etc., to avoid causing discomfort.
3.Rice should not be eaten with acidic foods.
Acidic foods include lemons, grapefruits, kiwifruit, etc., which taste sour and contain a lot of organic acids. When eaten with rice, it can easily cause excessive stomach acid, leading to indigestion, bloating, and other uncomfortable symptoms. According to TCM theory, when eating rice, we should try to avoid eating too much acidic food to maintain the health of the gastrointestinal tract.
4.Rice should not be eaten with foods high in sugar.
High-sugar foods include candies, desserts, etc., which contain a lot of simple sugars, and excessive intake can easily lead to an increase in blood sugar, causing obesity, diabetes and other chronic diseases. Rice, on the other hand, contains a lot of starch and is a complex carbohydrate, so excessive intake will increase the burden on blood sugar. Therefore, when eating rice, it is best not to consume excessive amounts of high-sugar foods to avoid unnecessary health risks to the body.
From the above points, we can see that rice needs to be reasonably matched when paired with food, and avoid eating it at the same time with certain foods. Only by achieving a scientific and reasonable diet can we better protect our health. As an old Chinese medicine practitioner, I also hope that you can choose the food combination that suits you according to your own physique and needs, and maintain a good diet Xi habits.
