Only more shameless, no most shameless

In 1061 AD, the 51-year-old Song Renzong finally decided to make the crown prince. Because he had no children under his knees, he had to choose Zhao Zongshi, a son of the clan, as his heir. In fact, this is the second time that Zhao Zongshi has been the heir to the throne, and when he was 4 years old, because of the death of Renzong's eldest son, he was accepted into the palace and became the crown prince of the spare tire. When Cho Jong-sil was eight years old, Renjong's second son was born, and he was returned by the palace. Unexpectedly, the second son also died 2 years later, and then the matter of establishing a prince was put on hold, and when Renzong was 51 years old, Renzong had no children to stand up, so he found Zhao Zongshi again, and he was already 30 years old at this time. So the 30-year-old Zhao Zongshi was appointed from an idle member of the clan to the Taizhou Defense Envoy and Zhizong Zheng Temple. However, Zhao Zongshi resolutely refused. Ding Mao, the general of the right guard, the Yuezhou regimental training envoy Zong Shi resigned from the Qinzhou defense envoy and the Zhizong Temple, and he was not allowed. Also, it is the tradition of ancient Chinese sages who want to want in their hearts but desperately refuse on their lips, so that they can appear to be highly respected. How can you give it once? Understandable. Moreover, Zhao Zongshi's father has just passed away, and he does not accept the appointment, which can also show that he is a filial son. But the appointment was made several times in succession, but Zhao Zongshi still didn't agree, and Renzong was a little unhappy. How? If I want to give you an official, I have to beg you to be an official? Is it okay for Lao Tzu to be the prince again? Song Renzong, who was about to give up, was pushed back by Prime Minister Han Qi, and Han Qi said: Your Majesty personally wrote an edict to let Zhao Zongshi know that this was the emperor's intention, and he obeyed the order. At the beginning, Zong Shi repeatedly begged and sued, and the emperor said to Han Qi: "Since he is like this, Aunt Yu is already there?" Qi said: "This matter is safe and dropped!" May Your Majesty grant you a Codex, so that you may not dare to resign, knowing that it is of divine will. "He was summoned by the envoy, and he was called ill. Qi and Ouyang Xiu and others discussed privately: "Once Zongzheng's life is out, outsiders know that he must be the prince, so it is better to correct his name." As a result, Zhao Zongshi still did not agree. In this way, Song Renzong issued eighteen holy decrees, and Zhao Zongshi replied with eighteen resignations. Han Qi felt that something was wrong, so he suggested that Renzong should stop going through the procedure, and directly give the title and make Zhao Zongshi the prince. So in August 1062, Song Renzong officially announced that Zhao Zongshi became the prince and changed his name to "Zhao Shu". In the afternoon, the edict entered the Imperial City Division of the Inner Serving Province, that is, the west of the Inner Incense Medicine Depot, and built the prince's position. Gui Wei, give the prince the name Shu. Song Renzong even prepared a sedan chair in order to make him obedient and wanted to carry him into the palace. Zhaodeng Prefecture Defense Envoy, the same judgment of the great sect from ancient times, Yizhou Defense Envoy Yu Guo Gongzong Dun persuaded the prince, still with the general of the Runwang Palace and above, if the prince is sick, that is, take the shoulder. Jihai, from ancient times, the prince is still stubbornly called sick. On the eve of the night, the envoy went back and forth to count four, and stayed at the forbidden door until the four drums, and the prince did not arrive, but the edict changed to a different day. But when it came to this, he still didn't agree, and even said: "I don't dare to invite blessings to avoid disaster." The supreme throne turned out to be a "disaster" for Zhao Shu. No one knows exactly what he thinks. Perhaps Zhao Shu at this moment, after experiencing the trauma of many returns from father and son, (his biological father was also raised in the palace by Song Zhenzong as a prince, and was later returned because of Renzong's birth) really does not want to be involved in political struggles anymore, and he does not have an infinite desire for that position at this time. After a stalemate between the two sides for 20 days, Zhao Shu finally got into a sedan chair and entered the palace. It's not that he woke up, but the reminder of the people in the palace made him realize the reality: Now the whole world knows that you are the prince, but you have been dragging you into the palace, which will make people think that you have bad intentions. Zhao Shu sobered up all of a sudden, and he finally decided to become the first person in the empire, Meng Yang entered the bedroom and said: "The lord knows the sage of the Taiwei, and with the help of heaven and man, it is a sound of virtue, and the Taiwei is called the only one who is sick and sleeping." Where is its Ngee An? The prince said: "I don't dare to be blessed to avoid disaster." Meng Yang said: "Now there is this trace, set up a stubborn resignation and do not worship, so that the Chinese people have something to play, so that Yan'an is not troubled?" The prince got up on the couch and said, "I can't worry about this." A few months later, Song Renzong died, and the courtiers led by Prime Minister Han Qi held yellow robes and asked Zhao Shu to take the throne, and asked Zhao Shu to take the throne. As a result, Zhao Shu's reaction was: run away. He shouted, "I don't dare to do it! I don't dare for! He ran out the door. How could the courtiers allow the new emperor to lose such a temper? Helplessly, he held Zhao Shu who was fleeing, and changed his hair accessories and put on a yellow robe. In this way, the fifth emperor in the history of the Northern Song Dynasty made a grand appearance - known as Song Yingzong in history.

After making a decision, the prince was summoned to enter, and the emperor was told to drive and make the heir stand. The prince exclaimed: "Don't dare to do it, don't dare to do it!" "Because of the reversal. The auxiliary ministers held it together, or relieved their hair, or were summoned to the front of the palace, the deputy commander of the Ma Bu Army, the capital Yu Hou and the clan assassin history to the front of the palace. But there's more to the bizarre than that. A few days later, on April 8, the day of Renzong's burial, the new emperor suddenly went crazy and shouted wildly, making it impossible for the funeral to be held with normal etiquette. There was no way, the ministers had to ask the eunuch to take Yingzong away and send him back to the palace. Ji Mao, big accumulation, the emperor is sick, and he is crazy, and he can't be a courtesy. Han Qi hurriedly threw the cane and curtain, hugged the emperor, and called the insiders, which belonged to Ling Jiayi to support. He also issued an edict with the Empress Dowager Bai, waiting for the day of the government, and asked the Empress Dowager to be punished with the same power. Faced with the sick emperor, the courtiers had no choice but to ask the queen mother to temporarily take care of political affairs and listen to the government. can recuperate from illness, but the funeral of the emperor's adoptive father still has to be attended, right? Besides, it's been a few months, so why don't the imperial doctors of the Tai Hospital have to be of some use, right? However, in October 1063, when the new emperor was supposed to preside over the funeral ceremony of Song Renzong, Yingzong disappeared. Song Yingzong resolutely said that he was sick, very sick, and could not attend his father's memorial service. So Sima Guang, who is very good at mouth, came out, and he made a table full of connotation: Is the medical skills of the Tai Hospital's Tai Doctor so bad? It has been so long that His Majesty's illness has not been cured, and he should be damned, so it is better to deal with all the quacks who treated the emperor, and let's find some useful doctors again. Of course, Song Yingzong couldn't kill all the imperial doctors, so he recovered four days later and rushed to attend the funeral. But at the memorial service where everyone should cry bitterly for the death of the first emperor, Yingzong did not shed a single tear. The emperor didn't cry, and everyone was forced to rack their brains to create a word for the emperor in order not to be accused by the world of being unfilial. Crying is to cry after the funeral, thinking of your parents sooner or later, which is also called "crying sometimes". Before Song Renzong came out of the funeral, Zhao Shu "cried", which obviously did not conform to the etiquette system. However, in the end, ministers will not offend a new emperor for the sake of a dead emperor. As a result, this shameless act, which was considered inhumane in ancient times, was legalized by Zhao Shu. Jia Chen, the emperor sacrificed to the lord without crying, and the name was called crying. The old ritual of crying without a pawn, so it was discussed by Lu Xiaqing and started to do it. Song Renzong's funeral came to an absurd end, but history's test of Song Yingzong was still to come. Because of Yingzong's illness, the military and political power was temporarily in the hands of the Empress Dowager Cao.

But the ministers never wanted the queen mother to control the government, so they hinted one after another explicitly that the queen mother should be nice to the emperor. After all, the courtiers can only contribute to the emperor and the country in the court, and in the inner palace, they still have to rely on the queen mother to take good care of the emperor and let his illness get better soon. But at this time, the relationship between Yingzong and Empress Dowager Cao was not good. In order to reconcile the relationship between the supreme rulers of the empire, the courtiers actually took great pains. Sima Guang first found the Empress Dowager Cao and persuaded her to be tolerant and generous to influence Yingzong with her motherly love: "The ancient loving mother, with unfilial sons, can still be sincere and compassionate, care for love, so that the inner rival knows what is wrong, and the heart is good. That's all the foolishness of the ministers. Prime Minister Han Qi started from the emperor, and he persuaded Yingzong to use filial piety to influence the Empress Dowager Cao and summon her maternal love: "Only if the parents are not kind and the children are not filial piety, they can be praised." But now that Your Majesty's affairs have not yet arrived, how can there be any unkind parents in their parents? I have to say that the relationship between the two has finally been alleviated to a certain extent, and since then, Yingzong has "not said that the Queen Mother is short".In April 1064, it had been a year since Song Yingzong ascended the throne, and it had been a year since Empress Dowager Cao was in power. Yingzong's illness gradually improved, and the courtiers wanted the empress dowager to return the power to the emperor. However, it is not so easy for those who have tasted power to let go of power. It was Han Qi again, he thought of an idea, discussed it with the courtiers, and inadvertently "cheated" the queen mother's right to adjudicate. Han Qi first went to the Queen Mother with his colleagues to report more than ten things, and the Queen Mother allowed them one by one. After that, Han Qi suddenly asked the Queen Mother to resign, saying that the emperor's body had recovered, and I had done almost all the auxiliary work for so many years, and it was time to retire when I was old. The Queen Mother hurriedly stopped him and said, "How can you retire? I'm supposed to be in the deep palace, listening to these military events here every day, and if I want to retire, I will retire first. That's what Han Qi was waiting for! He immediately praised the Queen Mother for being really virtuous and knowledgeable, which is really different from the Queen Mother who was greedy for power in the previous dynasty! He immediately ordered the attendants to remove the curtain, which means that the Queen Mother agreed to his request to return to the government and no longer hung the curtain to listen to the government. The same column retreated, Qi stayed alone, so the Empress Dowager Bai begged to go, and the Empress Dowager said: "The Prime Minister can retreat!" I should dwell in the deep palace, but I am here every day, and I have no last resort. Qi said: "The previous generations such as horses and Deng Zhixian were inevitably greedy for power; Now the Queen Mother can be restored, which is beyond the reach of Chengma and Deng. Because of the congratulations again, and said: "Taiwan also has Zhang Shuqi the Empress Dowager to return to power, and when will the curtain be removed before the trial?" "The Queen Mother rose up, and Qi immediately ordered Yi Luan Si to remove the curtain; The curtain fell, and the queen mother's clothes were seen behind the screen. Empress Dowager Cao didn't expect Han Qi, a person with thick eyebrows and big eyes, to be so insidious, but when things came to this point, the Empress Dowager could only agree. As a result, Song Yingzong finally began to govern pro-government. Song Yingzong was in power for less than half a month, and a matter that occupied almost half of his reign was put on the agenda. In May 1065, Han Qi took the lead in proposing that his courtiers discuss the title of Yingzong's father, Zhao Yunrang, that is, what should Yingzong call Zhao Yunrang? Since it is said that everyone should "discuss" together, there will inevitably be different voices. The Taiwanese faction headed by Wang Qi and Sima Guang (Yushitai and Yuan) was the first to put on the table, and said a bunch of things, and the conclusion was: You can't call Zhao Yunrang your father or call him the imperial exam. Of course, Yingzong will not be satisfied with this, he came up with a word game: You didn't answer the question directly, I asked what it was called, not what it couldn't be called, think again. So Wang Jue saw the move, because Zhao Yunrang was older than Song Renzong, and he suggested that Yingzong call King Pu "Huangbo". Wang Jue's reason is very simple, didn't you become the emperor after Guan Renzong called his father? Now he has to call his own father his father, and respect his biological father as the emperor's exam, wouldn't that make the Song Dynasty have an extra emperor out of thin air? Besides, you respect your biological father and mother as the first emperor and the first queen mother, what are the names of Guan Renzong and Empress Dowager Cao? Of course, if there are courtiers who resolutely uphold the patriarchal system of the royal family, there must be courtiers who support the emperor and support him in calling his father the emperor. The pro-emperor faction represented by Han Qi and Ouyang Xiu believed that "filial piety" was the greatest, and that they should be honored as their biological father and Song Renzong as their adoptive father. Ouyang Xiu said: "For the latter, for the latter parents for three years, for the latter, for the decline of his parents, that is, the son of the step, in the succession, born are called parents." Emperor Xuan of the Han Dynasty and Guangwu all called their father the emperor. The general conclusion is that Song Renzong and Pu Wang Zhao Yunrang are both the fathers of Emperor Yingzong, and Yingzong can call them both fathers. Yingzong was very satisfied with this, so he wanted to "obey it". However, Wang Qi, Sima Guang, and even Empress Dowager Cao did not agree to this matter. Yingzong had no choice, so he said that the discussion would be suspended first, and everyone would go to check the information. But there are some ** who don't look at the eyes of their bosses, such as Lu Xu, the governor of the imperial history, who said: Since there are different discussions now, we should continue to discuss and get a result! In this way, a new round of cultural cannon battles began. An incident occurred in August 1065 that brought the "Pu Yi" into a stalemate. (Because Yingzong's biological father is "King Pu Anyi", this title discussion, which lasted for nearly two years, was called "Pu Yi" by later generations.) This month, heavy rains fell in Tokyo, flooding many people, and the city was flooded with corpses. Even the palace was flooded, and many soldiers and horses were drowned. In the event of such a major natural disaster, generally speaking, the emperor has to give a polite edict, and Yingzong is no exception. Sima Guang and others naturally would not let go of such a good opportunity to tighten the screws for Yingzong, he stated the seriousness of the disaster in the book, and at the same time linked this matter with Pu Yi, saying that it was because Yingzong did something wrong that God had lowered such a punishment. Sima Guang listed the three major crimes of Yingzong, not being able to know people well, not changing their mistakes, the dictatorship of ministers (referring to Han Qi, Ouyang Xiu, etc.), and the kind words of not listening to Taiwan's advice. "The sages of those who know people cannot be raised, the unscrupulous ones who know people cannot be retreated, the governor's wrongs cannot be changed, and the governor's is not followed. The minister's autocratic power is worse than that of the previous dynasty, and he has no scruples. Sima Guang's doing this is tantamount to escalating the contradictions between the two parties, from expressing different opinions on matters to openly disagreeing. Seeing that the two sides were about to start infighting, the Empress Dowager Cao took a step back, and on the fourteenth day of the first month of 1066, the Empress Dowager Cao wrote a letter: "I heard that the ministers asked the emperor to be the king of Chongpu Anyi, but it has not been implemented so far." I read the prehistory, but I know my own story. King Pu Anyi, Mrs. Wang, Mrs. Han of Xiangguo, and Jun Ren of Xianyou County can make the emperor call him a relative, and still respect King Pu Anyi as Emperor Pu Anyi, and the country of Qiao, Xiangguo, and Xianyou are called the queen. Emperor Long Yan Dayue, who received the "permission" of the Queen Mother, immediately issued an edict: The Queen Mother is right! Call King Pu Anyi his father! Perhaps considering the divergent opinions at the time, Yingzong himself took a step and only called King Pu Anyi "father", instead of calling his father "emperor". And so the dust settled. On the second day after Empress Dowager Cao issued a handwritten letter, the Taiwanese resigned collectively**. Yingzong reluctantly asked Han Qi and Ouyang Xiu to discuss, but these two people couldn't give any advice on the best of both worlds, Ouyang Xiu said: "If Your Majesty thinks we are guilty, punish us, and if you think they are wrong, let them leave." Han Qi and Ouyang Xiu were firmly on their side from beginning to end, and Yingzong couldn't be stupid enough to let them leave their posts and leave that group of people to do it themselves, so they had to agree to the resignation request of the three of them. At this time, three more imperial historians who had just returned from the Khitan envoy heard about it, and they didn't even go to class, so they handed in their resignations directly. So after the loss of the six imperial histories, the results of the Pu discussion were finally settled, but it also broke the original fragile balance of the Song Dynasty's imperial power, Xiangquan and Taiwan. Although Yingzong has been entangled in this matter for nearly two years, he originally planned to govern the country well and change the law to become strong after gathering power, but what he didn't expect was that it didn't take long for him to start getting sick. The following winter, Yingzong, who was only 36 years old, was already so sick that he could not speak. History did not leave him much time, even if he had not made any practical achievements in the four years he had been on the throne, he could only hold regret and unwillingness, and passed away in a hurry after passing the throne to his eldest son Zhao Ji in 1067.
