Located between T1 and T2 terminals, the East 4 West 4 Finger Corridor Project of Baiyun Airport is an important part of the third phase expansion project of Baiyun Airport. The overall site of the East Fourth and West Four Finger Corridors is equipped with waiting corridors, aprons, comprehensive pipe corridors, landside parking lots and other buildings. Among them, the East Fourth Finger Corridor is an international corridor, and the West Fourth Finger Corridor is a domestic mixed flow corridor.
At the commissioning ceremony on December 31, Pan Jian, director of operation of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, said that the operation efficiency and green indicators of the two newly put into operation corridors are at the world's leading level, which has expanded the guarantee resources for the safe operation of Baiyun Airport flights and the increase in route business, and will also bring more convenient, intelligent and comfortable travel experience to passengers.
According to reports, the two new corridors are based on the premise of harmonizing the overall façade effect of the two terminals, and the façade shape continues the modern and concise design style of the T2 terminal. Baiyun Airport East Four West Four Finger Corridor South and T1 Terminal, North and T2 Terminal, North and South are 507 meters long, East and West are 256 meters long, in the shape of "T", after the two terminals "hand in hand", the form is like a dragon boat breaking the waves to the north, and the total area of the Baiyun Airport Terminal after closing reaches 156100,000 square meters, becoming the world's largest single terminal.
After the opening, Baiyun Airport will add 35 new boarding gates and 25 near stands, greatly expanding the use area and efficiency of the existing terminal building of Baiyun Airport, and improving its operational capacity, which can better meet the needs of passengers and provide a more convenient travel experience.
In terms of function, the East Four West Four Finger Corridor has been largely integrated into the intelligent building design at the beginning of the design, with an intelligent lighting control system, a boarding bridge and bridge equipment monitoring and management system, an energy metering system, a power monitoring system, and an integrated management system for building building a building equipment integration management system, etc., which is highly suitable for Baiyun Airport's digital transformation plan to create "one map for operation", "one network for safety" and "one face for travel", and establish a leading technical architecture.

It is worth noting that the new corridor not only has advanced facilities and beautiful design, but also connects the original two terminals of Baiyun Airport after completion. According to the relevant person in charge of Baiyun Airport, in the future, the East and West Four Corridors will be used as the waiting corridors of the T2 terminal, and the entry and exit check-in and transfer procedures of passengers can be completed in the T2 terminal.
It is understood that in the follow-up planning, a number of APM MRT channels will be built in the existing terminal area of Baiyun Airport to further open up space and shorten the travel distance of passengers. At the same time, Baiyun Airport will also cooperate with major airlines to enrich the travel products of various domestic and international connections and inter-company transfers, start from both hardware and software, optimize the transfer process, and realize "one-stop processing, one-time customs clearance to complete the transfer", so that the majority of passengers can experience the convenience and smoothness of "flying through Guangzhou".
