In the cold winter, the bitter cold of minus 4 degrees Celsius makes people shiver. At the gate of a primary school somewhere in Jiangsu, many students gathered and stood aggrievedly outside the school gate, unable to enter the warm classroom. The scene sparked dissatisfaction and anger among many parents of the students, who felt that the school's rules were too harsh and inhumane. As a teacher who has been working on the front line of education for 25 years, I have my own opinion on this.
However, let's think a little deeper about the nature of the problem. In the past and now, many parents of students have different views on education, they believe that learning is not the main task of students, and even think that they can do a good job in the family business without studying mathematics, physics and chemistry. They have a critical attitude towards test-taking education, and these voices dominate. And the front-line teachers, in this case, can only bow their heads and give in, unable to make their voices heard. However, at this critical juncture, if education experts, famous teachers and teachers with senior professional titles can stand up, adhere to their own educational philosophy, and speak up for education, then our education can still be saved.
Regrettably, however, many pundits in education have adopted a two-faced strategy. They praise the parents of their students, but they despise and oppress ordinary teachers. They cater to the emotions of students' parents without regard for the rights and interests of teachers. As a result, the wind of education has changed, and the "theory of the uselessness of education" of students' parents has taken over. They believe that if the school allows students to come to school early, it is the fault of the teacher, and it is the teacher's oppression of the student. These voices are one of the reasons that have triggered the school to enact a policy of "not allowing students to enter the classroom early".
On the other hand, the attitude of students' parents towards teachers is also a kind of malicious release. They see teachers as unworthy beings, which makes the campus a place to hurt and be harmed. Minors are inherently active and active, and under the education of their parents, they learn the law of the jungle. Parents do not allow teachers to criticize and discipline, which makes the school a hurtful place.
What is even more unacceptable is that when an incident of injury occurs on campus, parents often blame teachers as the first person responsible. They stood on the moral high ground and questioned the teachers for not taking good care of their children. This is another reason for the rule that "students are not allowed to enter the classroom early". As a result, teachers can only arrive early to ensure the safety of their students and remain vigilant until the twelve hours of work are completed. As a teacher who has been working on the front line of education for 25 years, I really feel this hardship and predicament.
For teachers, education is a glorious and great cause. However, in today's society, education is facing a huge dilemma. Parents of students have different attitudes and expectations towards education, and teachers are often under tremendous pressure and responsibility. In such an environment, many teachers have to cater to the needs of students' parents, which leads to education going in the wrong direction.
Education is the foundation for nurturing the pillars of the future and the foundation for social progress. However, today's education is often seen from the perspective of the development of the education industry, and there are indeed some problems and challenges. These issues and challenges are often closely related to the relationship between teachers, parents and education administrations.
First of all, teachers are under tremendous pressure to work. Teachers are confronted with a large number of teaching tasks, student achievement requirements, and parent expectations. They spend a lot of time and effort preparing lessons, grading assignments, and communicating with students and parents. Coupled with the low salaries in the education industry, the workload of teachers has become a problem for a while.
Second, there are differences in philosophies and expectations between students' parents and teachers. Some parents have high expectations for their children's academic performance, hoping that they will get better grades and further education. Some parents pay more attention to cultivating their children's interests and comprehensive qualities. This disparity leads to inconsistent expectations of teachers from parents, making it difficult for teachers to balance and meet the expectations of all parents.
In addition, the policies and systems of the education administration will also have a certain impact on the work of teachers. Sometimes policies focus too much on academic performance, resulting in teachers being forced to pay too much attention to test-oriented education and ignore the cultivation of students' interests and comprehensive qualities. In addition, some management measures may also cause confusion and stress for teachers, preventing them from fully fulfilling their professional abilities.
In view of this, the education industry needs all parties to work together to solve the existing problems and challenges. Parents should be more rational and understanding of teachers' hard work, and should not pursue the improvement of grades excessively and ignore their children's interests and personality development. Teachers should also actively improve their professional qualities and strive to become true educators, not just imparters of knowledge. Education management departments need to formulate more scientific and reasonable policies and systems, pay attention to the all-round development of students, and give teachers more room to play. Only with the joint efforts of all parties can the education industry develop further and provide students with a better educational environment and quality of education.
