Health for All says
Snail noodles, as a special delicacy of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, have always been controversial. Some people love its unique aroma and taste, while others can't stand its stinky smell. So, why does snail flour smell bad?Why do so many people still love to eat it?Today, we answer this question by measuring snail powder and combining it with the theory of traditional Chinese medicine.
First, let's take a look at the process of making snail flour. Snail flour is mainly made from snail meat, rice noodles, chili peppers and other materials. In the cooking process of snails, because of the special smell of the snails themselves and the seasonings used in the production process, they emit a unique smell. This smell is what makes snail flour unique.
According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, snails have a pungent and warm taste, and belong to the liver and kidney meridians. It has the effect of clearing heat and detoxifying, reducing swelling and relieving pain. The chili pepper added to the snail powder has the effect of warming the sun and driving away the cold, dispelling the wind and dissipating the cold. On the one hand, the chili pepper component of snail powder can promote appetite, increase taste stimulation, and make people have an appetite. On the other hand, nutrients such as protein and minerals in snail meat are beneficial to the human body and can provide a certain amount of energy and nutrients.
In addition to TCM theories, we have also conducted some experiments to explain why so many people love to eat snail noodles. We invited some snail noodle enthusiasts to conduct the test. The experimental results show that the special odor of snail flour does exist, but it does not cause obvious discomfort to people when eating. On the contrary, due to the synergistic effect of chili pepper and snail, the snail noodles have a spicy and fragrant taste, which makes people have an endless aftertaste.
In addition, according to our observations and surveys, the popularity of snail noodles is also related to regional culture and personal taste preferences. Guangxi is located in the south, the climate is humid and hot, people like to eat spicy food to sweat and dispel dampness, snail flour just meets this demand. In addition, in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, snail noodles are also an important traditional delicacy and are loved by locals.
Finally, we want to emphasize that flavors vary from person to person, and there is no right or wrong way to love snail noodles. Like it or not, we should respect different taste preferences. If you're curious about snail noodles, give them a try and you might find the charm in them.
