In order to excavate the historical and cultural resources of Wuning and develop the cultural tourism of Yuzhang, from December 9th to 10th, the "Seminar on the History and Culture of Qiaozhi County and Yuzhang Peach Blossom Spring" sponsored by the Department of History of Tsinghua University was held in Wuning Hotel. More than 20 experts and scholars from Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Renmin University, Capital Normal University, Jiangxi Academy of Social Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University, Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, South China Normal University, Yangzhou University, Nanchang University, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics and other academic institutions conducted in-depth exchanges on topics related to "Overseas Chinese Counties and Yuzhang Peach Blossom Spring".
At the meeting, experts and scholars carried out historical research on the themes of "Qiaozhi County and Meiyi, Ganbao's Origin", "Meiyi's Historical Status", "Yuzhang County's Examination", and "Peach Blossom Source in Wuning County".
Zhu Shiwen, president of the Beijing Yuzhang Peach Blossom Source Research Association, first mentioned that Mei Yi is a native of Wuning, Jiangxi.
Professor Qian Zongwu of Yangzhou University, President of the International Shangshu Society, said: "Wuning has Meiyi, Zouping has Fusheng, and the convening of this conference is of great significance to the spread of Shangshu culture and will have a far-reaching impact. ”
Regarding the historical role of Mei Yi, researcher You Shaohua of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences made comments. You Shaohua said: "The historical status of "Shangshu" highlights the historical role of Fu Sheng and Mei Yi. From the perspective of the Book of Shang, Fu Sheng became Confucius, and Mei Yi achieved Fu Sheng. Without Fusheng, Confucius's "Book of Shang" would have stopped at the pre-Qin period. Without Mei Yi, Fu Sheng's "Shangshu" would stop at the two Han Dynasty. After the Eastern Jin Dynasty, it was Mei Yi's "Book of Shang".
Zhong Xiaowu, vice president of the Jiangxi Academy of Social Sciences, pointed out in his speech at the conference: Chen Yinke of the University of Chinese Studies published an article entitled "The Peach Blossom Spring" in the "Tsinghua Journal" in 1936, advocating that the name of the county of Wuning County today is the evolution of the word "Wuling" in Tao Yuanming's "The Story of the Peach Blossom Spring".
From planning to implementation, the meeting was supported by the majority of Wuning villagers. General Tang Min, former deputy director of the Audit Office of the People's Liberation Army, and Comrade Ming Ruifeng, former first-level inspector of the Planning and Finance Department of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, attended the conference.
