Looking back on 2023, the Chinese Navy is about to enter 2024 and look back on 2023, and the Chinese Navy will be equipped with various types of combat ships, landing ships, submarines and other support ships at a rapid speed to enrich the lineup of the main forces on the front line.

Nearly 20 ships of various types were commissioned throughout the year, and the navy welcomed the new ships into the ranks with the highest courtesy, and the ships hoisted the national flag, military flag, and naval flag, and officers and men lined up to issue naming certificates and military flags to the new ships, officially becoming a member of the navy's combat sequence.

One: The last 2 055 large drive trains of the first batch of the Chinese Navy.

In 2023, the 7th and 8th 0.55 million ton large drive ships of the Chinese Navy will join the naval combat sequence, and after the delivery of the 107 "Zunyi" ship and the 108 "Xianyang" ship, the first batch of 8 0.55 million ton large drive ships of the Chinese Navy will all be put into service.

These two new ships belong to a certain destroyer detachment of the Southern Theater Navy, which is a major force of the Chinese Navy that was established relatively late, and has been deployed relatively far ahead.

In the first 10 years of the 21 st century, four new-type warships, including the two most advanced 052C and two 052B destroyers, joined this main force and became the most powerful main force of the navy.

In 2014, a destroyer detachment of the Southern Theater Navy (known as the South China Sea Fleet before the military reform) became the main force of the Navy's first 052D missile destroyer. Four 052Ds in the first batch were delivered to service in a row, setting a new record for a number of equipment of the Chinese Navy.

In order to speed up the construction of fraternal units, 2 early 052B destroyers were handed over to the fraternal detachments in the same theater of operations, which in turn became the first "all-shield" fleet of the Navy. The strong lineup of 2 052C + 4 052D missile destroyers surpasses that of other brother detachments, which is a full 6 "Aegis" ships.

The six "shield ships" are the 052C destroyers 170 "Lanzhou" and 171 "Haikou", the 052D air defense destroyers 172 "Kunming", the 173 "Changsha", "Hefei" and 175 "Yinchuan".

The 052C destroyer is equipped with 48 vertical missile launchers, and the 052D destroyer has increased to 64 vertical missile launchers.

The number of vertical hair units of the latest 0.55 million ton drive has reached 112, and after the last two 0.55 million ton drive ships were delivered to a certain destroyer detachment of the Navy in the Southern Theater, the number of large-caliber vertical hair units of this main force drive has reached 576.

It has set a new record for the number of vertical launches in the Chinese Navy, and if you add the 054A missile frigates that are included in the combat sequence, the number of vertical launch units is more than that.

Two: 054A set a record for the annual service of a missile frigate.

Since 2008, when the first 054A missile frigate 530 "Xuzhou" entered service with a destroyer detachment of the East China Sea Fleet, the main forces of the Navy quickly received a large number of 054A frigates to make up for the equipment gap of the first generation 051 destroyers and 053 frigates.

The Navy has completed the entry of 30 054A missile frigates into the ranks at a rate of 2-3 ships per year, and these 30 054A frigates have supported the vacancies in the combat power of our army's third-generation destroyers before they are put into service.

This year, the 530 "Xuzhou Ship," the lead ship of the 054A missile frigate, and the frigate of the Taiwan Navy had a confrontation incident, and our "Xuzhou Ship" carried out close pressure on the other side, which shows that the Navy is quite satisfied with the performance of the 054A frigate.

Unlike the previous 30 054A frigates, the 31st to 40th 054A frigates were all delivered to the Navy frigate detachment, which is the main force of our army's coastal operations, and undertakes escort, fishery protection, and patrol tasks in territorial waters, maritime adjacent zones, and exclusive economic zones.

In wartime, it will cover the landing fleet of our army across the Taiwan Strait and strike at the seacraft of neighboring countries that have invaded China's islands and reefs in the South China Sea.

In order to strengthen the combat capability of the frigate detachment, the Navy began to strengthen the 054A frigates for the frigate detachment, and all 10 054A have been delivered to the Navy frigate detachment.

In 2023 alone, the Chinese Navy will enter service with 7 new batches of 054A missile frigates, setting a new record for the number of 054A frigates in service annually.

These 7 054A missile frigates are the 534 "Baoji", Yixing, "Chenzhou", "Huaibei", "Quzhou", Dali, and "Tongliao".

These seven 054A frigates have joined the frigate detachments subordinate to the Navy of the Southern Theater and the Eastern Theater, and our military's intention is obvious, focusing on strengthening the monitoring capability of islands and reefs in the South China Sea and the waters of the Taiwan Strait.

In recent years, the U.S. Navy has continued to send destroyers and littoral combat ships to pick quarrels and provoke trouble in the Taiwan Strait and islands and reefs in the South China Sea.

In 2023 alone, nine combat ships of more than 4,000 tons will be included in the Navy destroyer detachment and frigate detachment.

Three: A large number of other ships are in the ranks.

In addition to destroyers, a considerable number of landing ships, submarines and other support ships are included in the naval combat sequence, judging by open sources:

The domestically produced "Bison"-class air-cushion landing craft began to enter service with the landing ship unit of the Eastern Theater Navy, which is the fifth "Bison-class" air-cushion landing craft equipped by the Chinese Navy, and the follow-up boat is still under construction.

Although the "Bison-class" cannot be compared with the tonnage of the main destroyers, it is also a real combat strength for the Chinese Navy, which is eager to complete the historical task of national reunification.

According to foreign media reports, the Chinese Navy has also commissioned at least one 039C conventional-powered submarine to enrich the Navy's conventional submarine force, and a number of support ships such as new submarine rescue ships, large-tonnage tugboats, hospital ships, and mechanized landing craft will also be delivered to the Navy in 2023, and nearly 20 new ships will be delivered to the Navy throughout the year.

These ships have enriched the Navy's combat units and become a strong material guarantee for the Chinese Navy to become a world-class navy. Project Sword
