On the afternoon of December 26, 2023, the "Safeguarding *** Party Group" of the First Criminal Division of the Beijing High People's Court and the "Loud Voice" Youth Theory Study Group of the Information Office went to Yuehe Community, Jianwai Street, to preach the "Counter-terrorism Law of the People's Republic of China" to community residents. Comrade Wang Weifeng of the First Criminal Tribunal said that this year marks the eighth anniversary of the promulgation of the "Counter-Terrorism Law of the People's Republic of China," and the struggle against violence and terrorism has not been relaxed for a moment over the past eight years. Focusing on the implementation of the spirit of anti-terrorism legislation in Beijing, based on the situation of Beijing's anti-terrorism struggle and the characteristics of violent terrorism cases, he explained in detail the countermeasures to strengthen the anti-terrorism struggle, and gave legal reminders to community residents in combination with specific cases.
It is understood that on July 28, 2023, the fourth meeting of the Standing Committee of the 16th Beijing Municipal People's Congress voted to pass the "Measures for the Implementation of the Counter-terrorism Law of the People's Republic of China in Beijing", which will come into force on January 1, 2024. The measures have made corresponding provisions on the safety precautions of key industries such as subway security checks, long-distance passenger transport, small and micro passenger car leasing, bulk gasoline sales, country houses, postal express delivery, and instant delivery, and strengthened the safety precaution system and measures from many aspects. These systems and measures have a close bearing on the safety of the people's production and life.
After the lecture, the court officers and police also put up posters in front of the community bulletin board, distributed publicity materials on the "Counter-terrorism Law of the People's Republic of China" to community residents, and further enhanced the awareness of community residents in counter-terrorism and terrorism prevention by "sending the law" into the Yuehe community again, created a strong atmosphere of national anti-terrorism, narrowed the distance between court officers and police and community residents, and effectively improved the legal literacy of community residents.
