On November 27, Mr. Yin was discharged from the Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (hereinafter referred to as "Zhongshan Seventh Hospital") and returned to his hometown in Chao'an District, Chaozhou City. Less than two weeks ago, he went to Chao'an District People's Hospital for long-term blood in his stool, and through Dr. Fang Sufen, who was stationed on the spot, he took the "Health Express" to Zhongshan Seventh Hospital.
The Chao'an guy took the road to ZhongshanSeven Courtyardsof the "Health Express".
As a member of the experts of Zhongshan Seventh Hospital in Chao'an District People's Hospital, Dr. Fang Sufen served as the deputy director of the hospital's endoscopy department. On November 13, when she visited the "Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center of Zhongshan Seventh Hospital in Chao'an District People's Hospital", she received Mr. Yin, a 38-year-old local resident. Mr. Wan reported that he had blood in his stool for a long time, his stool became thinner and more frequent, and he felt stomach pain from time to time.
After a preliminary diagnosis, Dr. Fang Sufen thought that he might have an intestinal tumor, and the next day he did a colonoscopy, and found that there was a ring of lumps growing around less than 10 cm away from **, and the bottom was ulcerated and uneven, which could be rectal cancer. Therefore, through endoscopy, biopsy was taken for pathological examination, and the diagnosis was confirmed.
Mr. Yin is in his prime and has never had a serious illness before, so this examination made him very anxious. With his trust in the medical brand of CUHK, he eagerly proposed to go further in Zhongshan Seventh Hospital. To this end, Dr. Fong Sophan informed Mr. Yin of Mr. Yin's situation in detail, Professor Ho Yu-lung, President of Sun Yat-sen Seventh Hospital.
He was awarded the 11th Chinese Physician Award, a Foreign Member of the American Academy of Sciences and a Senior Fellow of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine. As a top expert in gastrointestinal tumors in China, Professor He Yulong has made great contributions to the innovation and promotion of key technologies for the individualization of gastrointestinal tumors, and won the first prize of Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
Under the concern of Professor He Yulong, Yang Dongjie, director of the Digestive Medicine Center, overcame the difficulty of tight beds and quickly won an inpatient bed for Mr. Yin, and said that the department would go all out to help him.
Mr. Yin immediately bought a high-speed rail ticket from "Chaoshan Station" to "Shenzhen North" and took the "Health Express" to Zhongshan Seventh Hospital.

At noon on November 15, he came to Zhongshan Seventh Hospital, located in Guangming District, Shenzhen, and successfully went through the admission procedures.
On November 16, Mr. Yin completed CT examination of his chest and abdomen. Examination results show that several enlarged lymph nodes can be seen around the rectum, and the tumor has involved the surrounding lymph nodes, but no distant organ metastases have been found. Based on this situation, Professor Ho Yulong recommended the use of the da Vinci robot for surgery**. The surgical robot has a clear surgical field and precise operation control, which can not only fully protect nerve function, but also improve the lymph node dissection rate, reduce the amount of bleeding, reduce the surgical trauma, reduce the systemic inflammatory reaction, and restore the postoperative intestinal function.
After listening to Professor Ho Yu-lung's introduction, Mr. Yin's heart ignited confidence and expectation.
On November 21, Professor He Yulong, together with his "old partner" Da Vinci Robot, carried out the "robot-assisted rectal cancer ** surgery" for Mr. Yin, and successfully resected the rectal tumor and dissected the surrounding lymph nodes under the premise that the pelvic nerve was fully protected, and the postoperative pathology showed that the tumor was up to 5cm in length and diameter, and a total of 22 lymph nodes were dissected.
He Yulong's team has long been committed to the basic and clinical research of Perioperative Accelerated Surgery (ERAS), formulating an individualized plan for each patient, and taking a series of effective measures to reduce the patient's perioperative stress response, thereby accelerating the patient's postoperative surgery and greatly improving the patient's medical experience.
With the blessing of ERAS, Mr. Yin recovered very well after the operation, and was able to walk slowly along the bedside on the first day after surgery and began to gradually resume a liquid to semi-liquid diet, and reached the discharge criteria on the 6th day after surgery.
On November 27, Mr. Yin was discharged from the hospital. He expressed his gratitude to the Yulon team and all the medical staff of Dr. Fang Sufen in the endoscopy department of Chao'an District Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center for sending pennants respectively. On the way home, he sent a message to Dr. Fong Sophie, lamenting that he was "very lucky".
From the diagnosis of rectal cancer to the surgery**, Mr. Yin took only 6 days, and from the surgery to the discharge from the hospital. The course of less than two weeks before and after the cancer treatment truly embodies the essence of medical assistance: to provide patients with seamless precision medical services.
High-quality medical resources are sinking, and there areMingchao'an patients went to Shenzhen to see a doctor
In order to further implement the work requirements of the city's ** hospitals to support county hospitals, improve the comprehensive capacity of county-level hospitals, and promote the development of local health undertakings, on July 21, 2023, the Seventh Hospital of Zhongshan signed a assistance agreement with the Chao'an District People's Hospital of Chaozhou City, and the "Chaozhou Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center (Chao'an District) of the Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University" was inaugurated at the same time.
Combined with the actual needs of Chao'an District People's Hospital, Zhongshan Seventh Hospital selected 11 medical staff to form a support expert group to go to Chao'an District People's Hospital on the morning of September 4 to carry out a period of 3-6 months of assistance work. Dr. Fong So Fan is one of them.
Since the start of the assistance work, 13 Chao'an patients have taken the "Health Express" to Shenzhen Zhongshan Seventh Hospital and received high-level medical services from "Zhongshan Medicine". Among them, patients with lung cancer, lymphoma, esophageal cancer, rectal cancer and other diseases have received satisfactory diagnosis and treatment results.
Since the signing of the counterpart assistance agreement between Zhongshan Seventh Hospital and Chao'an District People's Hospital, Zhongshan Seventh Hospital has focused on cancer prevention and treatment, maintained close ties in medical business, academic exchanges and other aspects, and actively built the "Chaozhou Cancer Prevention and Treatment Center of the Seventh Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University (Chao'an District)", so as to realize the sinking of high-quality medical resources for oncology specialties and allow local people to enjoy the high-quality medical services of CUHK Medicine.
