At the meeting, more than 30 WTO members, including Cambodia, Laos and Liberia, spoke positively and explained the important role of the Investment Facilitation Agreement for Development in optimizing the investment environment, attracting high-quality investment, promoting economic development and achieving the goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Members generally supported the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference as an opportunity to promote the integration of the Agreement into the WTO legal framework.

The issue of investment facilitation is the first major issue that China has taken the initiative to set and lead in the WTO and related developing members, and it will become the world's first multilateral investment agreement after the agreement is reached.
