Damascus, December 9 (Reporter Xue Dan, correspondent Li Zhulin, Qu Fatong) On December 8, local time, the 21st batch of Chinese peacekeeping troops to Lebanon and the 22nd batch held a command transfer ceremony, marking the successful completion of the 21st rotation of Chinese peacekeeping troops in Lebanon.

More than 20 people attended the ceremony, including Brigadier General Dakar, Deputy Commander of UNIFIL, Brigadier General Hassan, representative of the Commander of the Southern Lebanon Theater, Jafar, Chief Executive of Tyre City, and more than 20 members of the Chinese Rotation Handover Steering Group.

In his speech, Dakar highly affirmed the important contributions made by the Chinese peacekeepers to peace and stability in southern Lebanon, and said that the unremitting dedication, professionalism and adherence to the mission of the peacekeepers of the Chinese peacekeepers in Lebanon reflected their outstanding contributions.

Since the 21st Chinese peacekeeping force to Lebanon officially assumed its duties in August 2022, it has faithfully fulfilled its peacekeeping mission, safely and efficiently cleared 15,325 square meters of mined areas, and cleared 2,277 mines, unexploded ordnance and 5 improvised devicesSuccessfully completed 87 construction tasks and 32 temporary construction tasksA total of more than 3,700 wounded and sick patients have been treatedIt has carried out extensive humanitarian relief, donated medical drugs, daily necessities and Xi school supplies to surrounding villages and schools more than 20 times, carried out more than 10 assistance activities such as repairing electrical circuits and roads, and carried out free medical rounds around the station, receiving nearly 900 people in total, effectively fulfilling China's obligations as a permanent member of the UN Security Council. In July this year, all 410 peacekeepers of the peacekeeping force in Lebanon were awarded the "Peace Medal of Honor" by the United Nations.

It is reported that the 22nd batch of 205 officers and men of the first echelon of the peacekeeping force to Lebanon arrived in the mission area on 5 December. The 22nd batch of Chinese peacekeepers to Lebanon has a total of 410 people, consisting of a multi-functional engineering detachment, a construction engineering detachment and a medical detachment, and has completed the handover of equipment, barracks, tasks, materials and equipment, and the second echelon will depart from China in mid-December. After the transfer of command, the 21st batch of peacekeeping troops to Lebanon successfully completed their peacekeeping mission, and the 22nd batch of peacekeeping troops to Lebanon officially assumed their duties.
