On December 7, FedEx signed a memorandum of understanding with Guangdong Airport Management Group (Guangdong Airport Group) to deepen strategic cooperation and held a groundbreaking ceremony for FedEx South China Operation Center.
According to the MOU, FedEx and Guangdong Airport Group will carry out comprehensive cooperation on matters such as improving airport operational efficiency, accelerating project construction and expanding investment. The two parties will jointly promote the strategic layout and business development of FedEx at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, promote the smooth flow of regional cross-border services, and contribute to the high-quality development of Guangzhou and the construction of an international air cargo hub.
The FedEx South China Operation Center is expected to be put into use in 2027, aiming to upgrade and expand the current Guangzhou Port Operation Center and effectively improve FedEx's processing capacity and operational efficiency for import and export goods in South China. After completion, the South China operation center will cover an area of more than 410,000 square meters, and it is expected to sort up to 250,000 import and export parcels and documents, with sorting efficiency three times the processing capacity of the existing Guangzhou port operation center.
