There is no doubt that the new energy track is the hottest direction in the field of laser applications. In recent years, driven by the demand for improving the efficiency of lithium battery, photovoltaic, hydrogen energy and other industries, market competition has become more and more cruel, and the domestic laser industry is ushering in a new round of growth. As a domestic brand with the largest market share of MOPA pulsed fiber lasers, JPT achieved an operating income of about 33.7 billion yuan in the third quarter of 2023, a year-on-year increase of 35.26 yuanThe net profit was 34.909 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 149.28. We all know that in the three core components of new energy vehicle battery, motor and electronic control, lithium battery accounts for the highest proportion of the vehicle cost, and its quality directly affects the core indicators such as mileage and driving safety. According to statistics, in 2022, the cumulative loading volume of power batteries in China will reach 294 6GWh, accounting for 56 9 of the total global sales. The rapid expansion of power battery production capacity also puts forward higher requirements for the manufacturing process.
Among them, the laser processing method has the characteristics of high production efficiency, good process stability, flexible and diverse processing graphics, easy to realize equipment automation and maintenance-free, etc., which can be widely used in the production process of lithium batteries, covering the front end of the lithium battery production line, the middle section of the welding and the back end of the module pack packaging and other processes, and the laser processes involved include cutting, welding, cleaning, marking, etc. According to relevant statistics, the penetration rate of domestic equipment in lithium battery production lines has exceeded 95. For a long time, how to promote the upgrading of power battery technology has been a topic of common concern in the industrial chain. At this year's Chain Expo, the 500W MOPA pulsed fiber laser highlighted by JPT is mainly aimed at the die-cutting process in the application of lithium battery tab cutting, which has high energy conversion efficiency and stable beam output, which can match the high-speed production needs of lithium battery processing production lines, and take into account the two major needs of cutting quality and cutting speed. As a leader in MOPA pulsed fiber lasers in China, JPT has profound technical accumulation and R&D experience. In this regard, Dr. Wang Lulu also introduced: "We have spent half a year on laser optimization to meet the application needs of the new energy field. Since the tab cutting materials often involve aluminum foil and ceramics, different materials have different requirements for laser parameters. During this process, we carry out a lot of testing to match the cutting requirements of different materials. In addition, for the application of power battery welding, JPT also focused on the AOB composite spot tunable laser, which is mainly used in battery explosion-proof valve welding, battery tab welding, power battery shell and cover plate sealing welding, power battery module and PACK welding and other fields. Its power covers 6000, has the characteristics of high photoelectric conversion rate and stable laser output power, and can provide a variety of options for the core diameter of the center and outer ring fibers, so as to meet the application needs of customers in different scenarios. In addition, the power of the center and outer ring of the laser can be adjusted independently, and the output of dual analog control can be controlled. There is no spatter in the welding process of high reflective materials, and the weld forming is stable and consistent. In the welding process, the output power can be fed back in real time and closed-loop compensation can be carried out, so as to greatly improve the welding efficiency and quality, and create greater economic value for power battery customers.

After half a year of production line testing, the yield of the production line of JPT laser has been significantly improved compared with that of foreign brands, and the scrap rate has been significantly reduced. From the perspective of the production capacity of power battery manufacturers, which often exceeds hundreds of GWh, such an improvement saves a lot of costs for customers, thereby enhancing product competitiveness. ”

In the context of China's overall goal of "carbon peak in 2030 and carbon neutrality in 2060", China will vigorously promote new energy vehicles, and gradually reduce the proportion of traditional fuel vehicles in the production and sales of new cars and car ownership, according to the "New Energy Vehicle Industry Development Plan 2021 2035" issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, by 2025, the sales of new energy vehicles need to reach 20 of the total sales of automobiles.
Data show that in October this year, China's automobile exports were close to 4 million, a year-on-year increase of nearly 60, and China's automobile exports rose rapidly, with the largest increase coming from new energy vehicles. 1 In October, China's new energy vehicle sales reached 7.28 million, a year-on-year increase of 37.8. Among them, the export of new energy vehicles was nearly 1 million, a year-on-year increase of nearly 100. In the third quarter of this year, 65% of the new energy vehicle sales in the global market came from China. Policy support superimposed on market demand, new energy vehicles ushered in an era of rapid development.
