As a key engineering construction project in Guangdong Province and a pilot project of a transportation power, the Zhongjiang Expressway Reconstruction and Expansion Project officially started construction at the end of 2020, with a total length of 4005 kilometers, the two-way eight-lane expressway standard reconstruction and expansion, after completion, will open up the bottleneck of the road network between the Pearl River Delta and western Guangdong, alleviate regional traffic congestion, improve driving conditions, and improve the service level of the road network.

As the key control project of the project, the Xijiang Bridge undertaken by Poly Changchang Engineering Co., Ltd. adopts unilateral separation expansion, and the new Xijiang Bridge has a total length of 2,740 meters, and the main bridge is a three-tower double-cable surface prestressed concrete beam cable-stayed bridge. According to reports, the structure of the main girder construction beam section of the Xijiang Bridge is complex, and the requirements for concrete pouring vibration and appearance quality control are high. In this regard, the project technical team has the courage to innovate, and for the first time in the construction of the main beam, the construction technology of the main beam steel bar tire frame is adopted, and the installation accuracy of the steel bar and prestress is effectively improved through the positioning of the card slot, and the construction period of each section of the cantilever beam section is shortened from 15 days to 12 days.

Up to now, the Zhongjiang Expressway reconstruction and expansion project is progressing smoothly, the asphalt pavement paving construction is being carried out in an orderly manner, the asphalt surface course has been completed by 70%, and the project is planned to be completed and opened to traffic simultaneously with the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor in 2024.
