Samsung is set to launch its latest generation of GDDR7 memory next month, with speeds of up to 37Gbps, which is 54% faster than the current highest-speed GDDR6X. The announcement was made at the 2024 IEEE International Solid-State Circuits Conference (ISSCC), showcasing Samsung's leadership in memory technology.
According to foreign media reports, Samsung plans to demonstrate a conference called 16GB 37 GB S GDDR7 DRAM with PAM3-optimized TRX equalization and ZQ calibration at ISSCC, and will launch advanced memory solutions for next-generation GPUs. This marks the official debut of GDDR7 memory, indicating that GPU performance is expected to usher in a huge improvement in the future.
The current GDDR6X memory has a maximum speed of 24Gbps, while Samsung GDDR7 comes at a staggering 37Gbps, an increase of at least 50%. Although it has already been seen on Nvidia's upcoming RTX 4080 Super graphics card5Gbps speeds, but the performance gains of GDDR7 are still impressive.
