IT Home reported on January 10 that at the 2024 CES exhibition, Samsung released two new services: NOW+ and Daily+, which aim to seamlessly integrate the management of all Samsung and SmartThings compatible devices into the TV interface, so that the TV will gradually become the central hub of smart home functions.

The now+ service embeds smart home controls directly into the TV interface, allowing users to easily operate fans, light bulbs, air conditioners, and more without leaving the viewing interface. According to Samsung's official blog, now+ not only provides direct control of smart home devices, but also supports turning smartphones into remote controls to further improve the convenience of control.

The Daily+ service can pass information about devices connected to SmartThings to Samsung and Bixby systems, and use that information to display relevant apps on TVs. Daily+ can also detect nearby smartphones and allow users to use them as remote controls.

IT Home noticed that in order to facilitate users to operate smart home devices, the NOW+ service will pop up the SmartThings TV shortcut panel on the side of the TV interface to list all core functions without affecting the display of content on the home screen. Samsung also showcased an ingenious feature: when the user is near the TV, the screen automatically lights up and displays key information about connected devices, such as the home camera feed, the room temperature, and the time remaining in the washing machine.

At this time, no more details have been officially revealed about whether these features require a specific TV model or device, and whether the remote control function requires a specific Samsung Galaxy phone.
