Today, we will enter the world of a romantic couple, who, like many couples, once drifted in the ocean of love, but as time passes, children, work and daily chores sweep over like a sandstorm, making their lives gradually occupied by impetuousness and busyness.

After six months of meticulous construction, their dream home is finally in front of their eyes. This home is like an isolated island, isolated from the hustle and bustle of the outside world, and makes people feel peaceful. Every detail is full of artistic atmosphere, like a gallery, making you forget to return.

Original structure diagram

The original 128-square-metre unit features three bedrooms and two living rooms, with a square, north-south layout that brings plenty of natural light to the residents. In particular, the spacious living room is connected to the balcony, creating a smooth flow of life, allowing residents to move easily between the spaces.

However, there are some shortcomings to this type of house. Each room is relatively closed, and there is a lack of effective interaction and communication between each other, resulting in poor overall spatial mobility.

In order to solve these problems, it is recommended to add some open design elements on the basis of maintaining the original layout to break the sense of closure between rooms. At the same time, consider setting up some transparent glass partitions between the living room and the balcony to increase the transparency of the space.

Floor plan

According to the preferences and living needs of the owners, the designers have carefully adjusted the layout structure to make the space more open and comfortable.

The main points of the transformation are as follows:

1. Incorporate the closed balcony into the interior and replace it with a whole wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, so that the sunlight can fully sprinkle and warm the whole space;

2. Remove the partition wall between the kitchen and the dining room to create an open kitchen space, and divide the functional area through the design of the booth, which is both beautiful and practical;

3. Reconstruct the pattern of the bathroom and the adjacent secondary bedroom, and set the washstand in the aisle area to optimize the circulation line and improve the convenience of life.

In order to maximize the openness of the living room, the wooden floor is laid straight throughout, making the whole space appear more spacious. The top of the wall is specially modulated with a white color close to the wood core, as if to introduce the freshness and tranquility of nature into the interior. The ingenious combination of art paint and latex paint forms a subtle texture of light and shadow, so that the eyes, who are accustomed to gray steel and dazzling rainbow light, feel extremely open and relaxed at the moment of returning home.

In order to maintain the integrity of the space, the main light is not set, but the balcony is enclosed, so that the eye can wander freely and smoothly in the space. This design not only makes the whole living room appear more spacious, but also provides a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere for the occupants.

In response to the unique needs of the homeowner, the living room abandoned the traditional TV and replaced it with a projection screen cleverly hidden inside the chandelier. When the curtain is closed, it transforms into a beautiful display table, adding a touch of character to the space.

The morning sun shines through the vertical blinds, casting a hazy light and shadow, as soft as a light veil. The sugar gourd floor lamp stands aside, echoing the volume of the dark sofa, giving people a sense of calm. The black and white color scheme on the sofa appropriately highlights the classic charm and blends harmoniously with the color palette of the entire space. The checkerboard carpet is like a beautiful landscape, cleverly connecting the various spaces, adding a bit of fun and vitality to the whole space.

The design of the balcony opening is unique in that it uses a clever use of stacked lines that evoke the repetitive geometric shapes of Art Deco's style. This simple design concept avoids too much piling up and makes the whole space appear more refreshing and neat.

In order to meet the owner's desire for an open office environment, the designer cleverly integrated the office space with the living room. In order to maintain the sense of openness of the space, the projection area of the living room has been carefully left blank, while the main activity area is concentrated on the other side. This layout not only creates a "quadruple scene" in the living room, but also unfolds different functions and life scenes one by one like a picture scroll, reflecting each other, making the whole space full of vitality and change.

Lockers, office areas, sofas and carpets, arranged in descending order, are a harmonious movement, with different elements echoing each other in black, white and wood melodies, forming a harmonious and unified artistic picture.

At the scene, skilled carpenters skillfully used birch planks to create a long table. Spacious and comfortable enough for two people to work at the same time, this long table is both practical and beautiful.

The natural colour and texture of birch are perfectly preserved, giving people a sense of endless warmth and comfort.

The louvered lacquered cabinet door and the elongated black air outlet are not only experts in storage, but also a mysterious treasure chest for hiding trivial things.

In order to avoid the feeling of oppression in the enclosed space, the kitchen space was completely open and clearly defined through the clever design of the top beams and floor tiles.

Slender tables and chairs and low-hanging pine cone chandeliers complement each other to create a small and sophisticated dining room. Whether it's a gluttonous meal or a light meal, you can find the ultimate enjoyment here.

There is space under the seat of the booth to make the sitting position more comfortable. The black sideboard, although it looks low-key, has a whole surface of slate countertops and metal hole slabs for storage, showing a different kind of luxury and practicality.

The kitchen tiles subtly highlight the continuity and unity of the space with unique textures and colors. The partially dropped ceiling is like a watershed in nature, dividing the ceiling of the kitchen and dining room clearly.

The designer cleverly optimized the kitchen layout into a U-shape, so that every link of material collection, cleaning, material preparation, cooking, and dressing is as smooth as an assembly line, making cooking easy and enjoyable. All kinds of kitchen appliances, such as refrigerators and ovens, are neatly embedded in the black cabinets, which not only has the overall harmony and unity, but also has a sense of local hierarchy.

The bathroom and washstand are subtly concealed by the booths, like actors on stage, hidden in the background at critical moments. This design makes the restaurant at the intersection of circulation lines seem to have a solid support, giving people a sense of stability.

The bedroom looks out onto the living room

The door is subtly integrated into the space, like a low-key artist, silently showing its charm. It contrasts with the colours and lines of its surroundings to create a layered and unique picture.

The washbasin is cleverly moved out to the corridor to achieve a layout that separates wet and dry, showing a unique sense of design.

The dark green marble suspended countertop, contrasting with the waterfall faucet, exudes a refined and simple atmosphere. This kind of design is not only functional and practical, but also a visual enjoyment, allowing people to appreciate the aesthetics of life in addition to washing.

With only a bed, a few chairs and built-in storage in the bedroom, it's as simple as it is elegant. The spacious bay window is like a natural picture frame, allowing the view outside the window to complement the simple style of the interior.

Compared to the common areas, the bedrooms are dominated by rich colors, adding two very different styles to the home. Due to the owner's preference for green, the entire wall has been subtly decorated in shades of moss green, which complements the green curtains and bedding, making it feel as fresh and natural as being in a forest.

In addition, a white spherical bedside wall lamp, with its bright hue, brings a different kind of life to the bedroom, effectively avoiding the feeling of oppression caused by a single dark tone.

In order to meet the storage needs of a large number of clothes, the wall of the second bedroom was cleverly moved and cleverly embedded in a large cabinet. The color of this cabinet is in harmony with the surrounding environment, which not only makes the space look neat and open, but also greatly reduces the sanitary dead corners.

The top of the bathroom is strategically equipped with air outlets, so that the atmosphere is always warm. The alcove design next to the bathtub not only facilitates storage, but also visually integrates with the terrazzo and red wall, like a harmonious picture.

In the place where the bathtub is placed, a concave arc is cleverly designed, so that even the bathroom space is a little tighter.

The fine red tiles and the small round lamp with a golden base make the whole space full of warmth and romance.

The combination of black and gold gives the space texture endless sublimation. The reflection of the mirror cabinet exudes the charm of red light like magic, allowing the colors to flow in the refraction of light and permeate every corner.

As for the vision of a new home, the couple yearns for comfort, romance and coziness, like explorers looking for treasures. Therefore, the designer skillfully integrated the two styles, just like the musician playing a melodious melody, to satisfy the owner's beautiful pursuit of openness, comfort and romantic art.
