February** Dynamic Incentive Program The football world was extremely hot last night, with various matches playing crazy results. Manchester City, Juventus, Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur – the big four – all made jokes and lost points when they lost. Manchester City drew 1-1 at home to Chelsea, and although they dominated almost the game, with a full 31 shots on goal, just one goal in the net.
Haaland was in a slump and squandered a great opportunity, failing to find the back of the net on nine consecutive shots. The defeat has made Manchester City's title prospects even worse, and they are now four points behind Liverpool in third place.
Juventus, on the other hand, were held to a draw away by Verona, falling behind twice and equalising twice, and finally had to accept a 2-2 draw. It's a shame for Juventus to be forced like this by a relegation team.
The draw at Hellas Verona also meant Juventus suffered four consecutive defeats, losing 10 points and all but dashing their title hopes. Now they are nine points behind Inter Milan, which is a considerable gap.
Napoli were rather poor at home and the game was thrilling, holding Genoa to a 1-1 draw. Had it not been for Ngongo's late equaliser, Napoli might not have picked up a point. As the defending champions, Napoli have had a terrible run of results this season.
Tottenham's situation is even worse than the three teams mentioned above, losing at home and not picking up a point. Tottenham were beaten at home by Joao Gomes who scored twice to lead to a 2-1 defeat for Tottenham. Son Heung-min and Richarison both failed to score to help the team. The defeat cost Tottenham three points and saw them slip to fifth in the table.
In addition to this, there are quite a few strong teams that have won. Barcelona were lucky enough to win 2-1 against Celta Vigo on a stoppage-time penalty to get the three points. Paris Saint-Germain continued their frustration with a 2-0 win away at Nantes, with Kylian Mbappe netting a goal after coming off the bench.
Paris Saint-Germain have a huge lead in the league and it is only a matter of time before they win the title. Arsenal won big away to beat Burnley 5-0, which saw them overtake Manchester City and move up to second place, close to Liverpool. Liverpool, on the other hand, beat Brentford 4-1 to remain at the top of the table, but only two points ahead of Arsenal.
