Taking the subway from Hebei to Beijing will soon be possible. The spring is cold, and the construction site of Yongshun Station of Beijing Rail Transit Line 22 (Pinggu Line) in Tongzhou District, Beijing is in full swing. A reporter from China News Service saw that dozens of workers were working intensively in the steel processing area. Not far away, the gantry crane moved slowly, ready to lift the processed steel bars to the bottom of the station for binding construction.

The Pinggu Line is the first cross-provincial urban rail transit line in Beijing, and the first demonstration line in the field of urban rail transit for the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei. Yang Liming, director of the track section of the Beijing Major Project Construction Headquarters Office, introduced that the line connects the core area of Beijing CBD, Dingfuzhuang Group, urban sub-center, Pinggu New Town, and Yanjiao, Hebei Province and other key functional areas, with a total length of about 812 km.
We plan to complete the main structure of Yongshun Station by the end of this year. Liu Hui, project manager of Beijing Construction Engineering Urban and Rural Group Line 22 09, said that Yongshun Station is the eighth station from the west of the Pinggu Line, which is a three-storey underground stacked side platform station, and the station is planned to be a Yongshun micro center around the station, and the ancillary structure will be integrated construction.
At present, the construction of the Pinggu Line is in full swing. Yang Liming said that after the line is completed and opened to traffic, the three northern counties of Hebei Province will achieve the fastest 9-minute access to the sub-center of Beijing.
The reporter learned from the Beijing Municipal Transportation Commission that a large number of high-speed railways such as the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Extension, Beijing-Xiong Intercity, Jingtang (Jingbin) Intercity, and Jinxing Intercity have been put into operation, with Beijing and Tianjin as the core hubs, and the national high-speed railway network connecting various cities in Hebei has been basically completed.
So far, the total mileage of high-speed rail in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has increased from 1,284 kilometers in 2013 to 2,624 kilometers, realizing full coverage of all prefecture-level cities in the region.
It is understood that the Beijing-Tianjin intercity is currently running reconnected trains and long-marshalling trains, and the implementation of bus-based operation, with the shortest departure interval of 3 minutes. With the opening of the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Extension Line, passengers can reach Tianjin Binhai New Area in only about 1 hour from Beijing South Railway Station.
As an important stop of the Beijing-Tianjin Intercity Railway, Wuqing Station has been revitalized by the continuous "commuter flow" and "consumption flow". Mr. Zhang, a taxi driver who lives in Wuqing District, recalls that more than a decade ago, the area around Wuqing Station was relatively deserted, with few residential and commercial facilities. Since the opening of the Beijing-Tianjin intercity railway, the number of Wuqing has begun to increase, which has led to the development of Wuqing.

In the past ten years, the "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei on the track" has been accelerated, and the inter-regional backbone road network has become denser and denser, further facilitating the exchanges between the three places. By the end of 2023, the Jingxiong Expressway will be fully opened to traffic. Drive from the Fifth Ring Road in the southwest of Beijing to Xiong'an New Area, Hebei Province to achieve access within 1 hour.
When Mr. Li, from his hometown of Shandong, returned to Beijing during the Spring Festival holiday this year, he deliberately chose the route via the Beijing-Xiong Expressway. He told reporters that the Jingxiong Expressway is smooth all the way, the markings and signs are clear, the road surface is clean, the environment on both sides of the road is pleasant, and the driving experience is very good.
In addition to the Beijing-Xiong Expressway, a large number of expressways such as Beijing-Taipei, Beijing-Kunming, and Jinshi have been completed and opened to traffic, and the national expressway backbone network composed of 7 capital radial lines, 2 longitudinal lines and 3 horizontal lines has been basically formed within the region. At present, the total mileage of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Expressway has reached 10,990 kilometers, an increase of 37 compared with 7,983 kilometers in 20147%, and the highway density reaches 506 km 100 square kilometers, which is 27 times.
As Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei continues to open up the "main artery" and smooth the "microcirculation", the "circle of friends" of the three places is getting tighter and tighter. (ENDS).
