On February 6, 2024, the second practice group of the 2023 class of architecture of the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation organized a practical activity with the theme of "Strengthening Fire Protection Publicity and Building a Better Home Together".
In the process of practice, the team members actively carried out fire prevention knowledge training courses, produced fire prevention publicity materials, and taught fire prevention knowledge to residents in all aspects and on a large scale through door-to-door publicity and visits to passers-by. The content covers fire safety signs, daily fire prevention measures, fire extinguishers and fire hydrant use, fire escape and self-rescue methods, etc.
In addition, on the occasion of the Spring Festival, a traditional Chinese festival, the team members also actively put forward reasonable suggestions for fireworks and firecrackers, negotiated with village committees, and organized personnel to go outdoors to pick up flammable materials and firecracker debris on the roadside and in the green belt, so as to ensure the safety and happiness of residents during the New Year.
Hidden dangers are more dangerous than open fires, and prevention is better than extinguishing. This practical activity not only enhanced the residents' awareness of fire safety, but also made the members aware of the importance of fire prevention and improved the members' organizational and practical skills. In the future, the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation will carry out the popularization of rural fire prevention knowledge in a comprehensive and in-depth manner, and make greater contributions to the construction of a beautiful and green China.
