On the occasion of the Spring Festival, in order to help the elderly survive the winter smoothly and warmly celebrate the New Year, we will carry forward the traditional virtues of respecting and loving the elderly of the Chinese nation. The 2023 Class 2 Architecture Youth League Branch of the School of Civil Engineering and Transportation organized a volunteer activity to help the elderly warm up for the New Year. The volunteers actively responded to and participated in this activity, sending warmth and care to the elderly, which fully reflected the care and love of all walks of life for the elderly.
In the preparatory stage, we fully considered the needs and preferences of the seniors, and developed a detailed plan to ensure that the event was full of meaning. In addition to regular cleaning, buying New Year's goods, etc., we also organized traditional activities such as writing Spring Festival couplets and making dumplings, so that the elderly could feel a strong festive atmosphere. The volunteers had in-depth exchanges with the elderly people, listened to their stories from the past, and enhanced their understanding and affection for each other.
After the event, we received many thanks and compliments from the elderly. They said that this activity made them feel the warmth of home and the care of society. The volunteers also gained growth and touching, and strengthened their determination to continue to participate in volunteer services.
The event was a complete success and achieved the desired results. We hope to hold more such events in the future to benefit more seniors. At the same time, we call on more people to join the ranks of caring for the elderly, leading the majority of young people to take the initiative to care for the elderly, showing the responsibility and responsibility of contemporary youth with practical actions, and jointly building a warmer and more harmonious society.
