According to CDB, after making arrangements for the "three major projects" to promote the construction of affordable housing and the renovation of urban villages, the bank acted quickly and achieved a series of phased results. On December 11 last year, China Development Bank Fujian Branch disbursed the country's first placement affordable housing development loan in Fuzhou. On December 23 last year, China Development Bank (CDB) Hunan Branch successfully landed the country's first loan for the reconstruction of urban villages in megacities in Changsha.
It is understood that as of February 20 this year, CDB has issued more than 36 billion yuan of special loans for urban village renovation, involving 223 projects in 32 cities including Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, benefiting 260,000 urban village residents and supporting the construction of 540,000 resettlement houses.
CDB requires that the next step is to achieve solid and new results in promoting the construction of affordable housing and the transformation of urban villages, accelerate the implementation of projects, give full play to the role of major banks, deepen government-bank-enterprise cooperation, do a good job in policy convergence, systematically plan financing plans, optimize business processes, and improve service quality and efficiency.
The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development said that accelerating the construction of affordable housing and the transformation of urban villages plays an important role in benefiting people's livelihood, stabilizing investment and promoting transformation. It is hoped that CDB will further strengthen its connection with local governments, help plan more projects in reserve, increase loan support, strictly issue and use funds, and prevent idle and wasteful misappropriation of funds.
The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Finance said that the construction of affordable housing and the renovation of urban villages are conducive to improving the living environment of residents and local economic development, and hoped that CDB will give full play to its professional advantages in project evaluation and risk identification, effectively screen projects in accordance with laws and regulations, scientifically review and make decisions, and solidly promote various tasks.
The relevant person in charge of the State Administration of Financial Supervision expressed the hope that China Development Bank and other large banks will further improve their political position, adhere to their functional positioning, strengthen contact and communication, strictly abide by the bottom line of risk, effectively coordinate development and security, strictly comply with laws and regulations, strengthen credit extension and risk management, adhere to the principles of marketization and rule of law, continue to improve the risk management mechanism, and ensure the safety of funds.
