Changsha Evening News, Changsha, January 29 (Reporter Ren Bo) At the 2023 Hunan Archaeological Report Conference held on the 29th, the Changsha Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology announced the newly discovered Shang and Zhou relics at the Beijin City (Sanshishu) site.
Since the 80s of the 20th century, the site of Beijin City (Sanshishu) has carried out many archaeological investigations and excavations, and the plane of the city site is slightly triangular, with the city wall as the boundary in the north and west, and the Xiangjiang River in the east as the defense. In the rammed earth of the city wall and near the city wall, ceramic cylinder tiles, slab tiles, tiles and so on have been found. It is now a provincial cultural relics protection unit in Hunan Province.
Beijin City (Sanshishu) outside the northwest of the city is the Han Dynasty Changsha King Mausoleum Group Valley Mountain Area, about 400 meters away from the nearest part of the Miaopo Mountain Han Tomb; The east side of the city is the Dongshan cemetery of the Changsha Dynasty Mausoleum Group of the Han Dynasty, and a large number of Han Dynasty cylinder tiles and plate tile fragments can be seen on its hill.
From August to the end of October 2023, in order to cooperate with the Xiaoxiang Road (Beijin City Section) North Extension Road Project, the archaeological survey of part of the Beijin City (Sanshishu) site was restarted. The investigation found that there were relics from the Shang and Zhou dynasties to the Western Han Dynasty in many places in the city, such as the sand and mantle feet, cloud and thunder patterns, and hologram pottery pieces found in the Shang and Zhou dynasties; Clay Jomon pottery shards and checkered hard pottery shards in the Western Han Dynasty.
In addition, it is found through the anatomical section that the construction method of the west wall of Beijin City is multi-layer rammed by partitions, and there is a certain emphasis on soil selection and ramming, that is, there is a phenomenon of selecting some purer yellow-brown clay partitions for ramming.
