On February 9, a reporter from Beijing Youth Daily learned from the Capital Museum that after the exhibition transformation, the Capital Museum will resume opening at 12 o'clock on February 10, 2024 (the first day of the first lunar month). Visitors need to make an online reservation in advance through the WeChat public service account of the Capital Museum before entering the museum.

At the end of 2022, some exhibition halls of the First Expo will be temporarily closed to the public, and the exhibition renovation will be started. After repeatedly revising the outline of each exhibition, widely soliciting the opinions of experts in related fields, the basic exhibition is based on the collection of Shoubo over the years and the newly unearthed cultural relics in Beijing, absorbing the latest research results of Beijing's history, cultural relics, archaeology and related disciplines, drawing on the beneficial experience of museums at home and abroad, and emphasizing and highlighting the important historical nodes of Beijing's urban development.

The re-unveiled basic exhibition is named "The Powerful Witness of Chinese Civilization - Beijing General History Exhibition", with a total area of 4,900 square meters and more than 1,100 pieces (sets) of cultural relics on display. At present, the first unit to the eighth unit - the first unit "The Dawn of Civilization" is open, showing the 700,000-year human settlement history and more than 10,000-year cultural history of the prehistoric Beijing area; The second unit, "The Beginning of the Founding of the City", shows the sealing of swallow thistles at the beginning of the week, opening the history of Beijing's more than 3,000 years of city building; The third unit, "Northern Towns", shows the continuous exchange and integration of ethnic culture in Beijing as the northern military town of the Central Plains Dynasty from the Qin and Han dynasties to the Sui and Tang dynasties; The fourth unit, "The Beginning of the Establishment of the Capital", shows that during the Liaojin period, Liaosheng Youzhou was Nanjing, King Jinhailing moved the capital to Yanjing, and Beijing became the capital of the dynasty in the general trend of ethnic integration; The fifth unit, "Dadu Zhaojian", shows the planning and construction of the Yuan Dadu, and Beijing officially became the capital of China's great unified dynasty; The sixth unit, "Model of the Capital", shows the relocation of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty, the construction of the capital, and the further prosperity and development of Beijing's capital culture; The seventh unit, "The Prosperity of Beijing", shows the prosperous atmosphere of Beijing in the Qing Dynasty in terms of culture, religion, gardens, industry and commerce; The eighth unit, "Dawn of the Ancient Capital", shows Beijing during the first period, focusing on the New Culture Movement, the May Fourth Movement, the spread of Marxism, the early organization and activities of the Communist Party of China in Beijing, the "December 9" Movement, the "July Seven" Incident, the construction of anti-Japanese base areas in the suburbs under the leadership of the Party, the peaceful liberation of Beiping, and the "rush to Beijing to take the examination".

In addition, the "Old Beijing Folk Customs Exhibition" takes the seasonal customs, human customs, and the replacement of things and flowers in the rotation of the four seasons of old Beijing as the main content, and is an important part of the basic display of the first expo, with 400 (group) pieces of cultural relics on display. The exhibition is divided into four parts: the first exhibition hall is spring-welcoming spring in the cold; Exhibition Hall 2 Summer - when the sky is full of hot summer; The third exhibition hall Autumn - infinite autumn light; The fourth exhibition hall Winter - the twilight of the year and the cold business.

The exhibitions open to the public also include the "Brilliant Central Axis" exhibition, "Exhibition of Modern and Modern Paintings from the Capital Museum", "Exhibition of Gold and Stone Calligraphy from the Capital Museum", "Yandi Bronze Art Exhibition", "Ancient Jade Art Exhibition", "Millennium Treasures, Glory of the Prosperous Era - Cultural Relics of Ancient Pagodas in Beijing", and the temporary exhibition "Carrying Forward and Stopping - A Century of Xinjiang Archaeology" from Xinjiang.

The public should note that the first expo will resume opening on February 10 (the first day of the first lunar month), and the opening hours on that day will be from 12:00 to 17:00, and admission will stop at 16:00. From February 11, 2024 (the second day of the first lunar month), the museum will be open from 9:00 to 17:00 every day (last admission at 16:00), and the museum will be closed on Mondays. After the online reservation is successful, visitors need to hold a valid ID card to enter the museum, and they can only enter after on-site verification and security check. Minors under the age of 14 (including 14 years old) must be accompanied by an adult throughout the visit, and both the escort and the minor must bring valid ID documents for on-site verification and go through security checks before entering. Due to the system upgrade, the group booking service is temporarily unavailable.
