Skate parks, meeting areas, broadband internet, modifications, tuning, modeling, graffiti, urban art, street theater, tightrope walking, circus events, video arts, electronics**, acrobatics, performing arts, comics, parkour, audiovisual arts, contemporary dance, dance funk and hip-hop, ballroom and macc (Physical Expression of Contemporary Art) are among the activities that make up the Collective Factory Youth Sports Park program, which we will continue to offer in the new Mérida Factory project.
With the addition of new active projects, it seems that in the near future we will have to filter some of these activities, but as architects, we aim not to need to filter anyone. The building is designed as a huge canopy that is open to the entire city and can be used by anyone who wishes to come. This canopy consists of a series of volumes with an elliptical floor plan and is seen as a self-contained module, allowing independent access. Since there is no climate control system within the venue, a large one-meter-thick thermal insulation protects the teens from rain and sun while participating in the activities below. The lid also helps to control the climate in these active areas. The roof is protective and translucent, extending like a floating cloud.
