The Lantern Festival is a special day when the moon is perfect, people are perfect, and love is perfect. At the beginning of this Year of the Dragon, when the Lantern Festival is approaching, in order to care for special groups, dedicate a piece of goodwill, and promote the traditional virtues of equality and tolerance, 28 members of the 705 Hongfan Squadron of Huilan Middle School of Hangzhou Wenlan Education Group walked into the two corners of the city on February 23, 2024, and came to the "Star Workshop" and the "Home for the Disabled" in Gongshu District.
The cold wave is coming, but it can't blow away the strong warmth between the children. Although the "children" of the "Star Workshop" are mentally handicapped, they are very friendly and greet us with the most innocent smiles. We took the "children" to make red lanterns together. Pasting, threading, every movement is very simple for us, but it is a challenge for them. The "children" are not afraid of difficulties, some of them are seriously tearing the double-sided tape, some are pasting over and over again, even if the lanterns are not particularly perfect, but their faces are exuding joy, holding the lanterns, they can't wait to share their happiness with us, and the house is full of joy. The uncles and aunts of the "Home for the Disabled" are completely different, they work hard, they want to be strong, and they are determined to make the most perfect lanterns. Among them, one of the uncles was particularly striking, his hands were a little disabled, but he clung and struggled to grasp the lantern paper, assembling it bit by bit. His expression was so resolute and focused, without revealing a trace of irritability. When the lanterns are hung all over the home, the atmosphere of the Lantern Festival gradually becomes stronger, carrying our love and blessings for them.
Several Lantern Festivals are sincere, and a bowl of soup is full of love. "On this winter day, we send them our most sincere blessings with a bowl of hot handmade rice balls. In the "Star Workshop", the "children" put on gloves and rubbed warm rice balls. The filling of the rice balls is always exposed, so we help them repair it and roll out the white rice balls. The extra tangyuan skin, the "children" used their rich imagination to make a variety of shapes, making this pot of tangyuan more fun. The uncles and aunts of the "Home for the Disabled" made colorful rice balls, each of which was as colorful as a rainbow. Everyone rubbed carefully and used a pair of skillful hands to create soft and delicious rice balls. The rice balls are out of the pot, and I taste the sweet and greasy rice balls in my mouth, and I feel the heavy warmth in my heart.
Finally, everyone sang "Tomorrow Will Be Better" together, pushing the atmosphere of the event to a climax. Songs have become touching words at this moment, and we hope that special people can have a better tomorrow like us and enjoy life under the same blue sky as us!
