In the early morning of February 3, a freezing rain swept through Wuhan, and a large number of trains were suspended. "Freezing rain" is named because it is water when it falls on the ground and ice when it falls on the ground, and it is considered a kind of disastrous weather because it can crush trees and power poles, stop communications and power supply, hinder road and railway traffic, and affect travel safety. In the following 72 hours, Wuhan sent three orange warning text messages for road ice in a row.

As a transportation hub, the Wuhan railway network connects many regions such as North China, East China, and South China. According to the statistics of the Wuhan Municipal Transportation Bureau, during the Spring Festival in 2023, Wuhan railways, highways, and aviation will safely send 928 passengers480,000 person-times. Under the influence of "freezing rain", Wuhan's railways, highways, and aviation were controlled to varying degrees, and Qianjiang, Jingzhou, Xiangyang, Yichang, Enshi and other places in Hubei were seriously affected, and a large number of tourists were stranded in Hubei. On the one hand, there is the dilemma of freezing rain and stranding, and on the other hand, there is the upcoming Spring Festival.

During the 72 hours of the freezing rain, Wuhan's traffic was greatly challenged, and countless wanderers who longed to return home carried out self-help at this moment.

In this issue of Micro Story, we found three travelers stranded in Wuhan, the central city of freezing rain, among them: some people accurately predicted the train number by studying the news, and it took 29 hours to get home; After someone was stranded in Wuhan, he witnessed his trapped friend spend ten times the previous cost to buy a ticket home, and finally chose to "evade the ticket" and get on the bus; After some people were stranded for 3 days, they chose the highway to attack Jingzhou overnight, and finally detoured to 3 cities and finally exchanged for a ticket home.

Here's their true story:

Zhao Yang Enshi people.

Distance: Changsha - Wuhan - Enshi.

Total time: 29 hours.

On February 3, I will depart from Changsha South Railway Station, take the high-speed train at 13:53 to Wuhan Station, and then transfer to the bullet train to Enshi within 30 minutes.

At 7 o'clock in the morning on the 3rd, I received a message from my family in Hubei, informing me that many bullet trains in Hubei were suspended due to freezing rain. Then I opened my ticketing software and found that at 17:55 on the afternoon of the 3rd, the bullet train from Wuhan to Enshi had been suspended.

Figure |The cancellation also meant that I needed to stay out of town for an extra day, and I would not be able to get home until February 4 at the earliest. My family suggested that I stay in Changsha for 1 more time, and there is no freezing rain in Hunan for the time being, so I can consider other routes to come back. But when I saw the news on the news that the freezing rain was about to move south to Hunan, I immediately decided to get up and go back to Hubei to avoid being trapped outside the province. Years of experience in the Spring Festival have taught me that you must not "wait", you must leave when you have the opportunity. Sure enough, after I arrived in Wuhan, news of the suspension of operations came from Hunan one after another.

At that time, a large number of people were stranded at Wuhan Station, and the screen was red. After arriving in Wuhan, I started grabbing tickets home. Before grabbing the ticket, I also took a special look at the news to study the mechanism of freezing rain, and found that the biggest problem was because of "freezing", the temperature was low and the ice could not melt, so the bullet train was blocked, and if the train in front of the sequence group did not arrive, the train behind could not depart. Therefore, I decided to rush the bullet train that departs in the morning, because the weather forecast shows that the temperature in the cities along the route is relatively high in the afternoon, and the morning train is at the forefront of the sequence group, so the travel guarantee is greater. In order to improve the odds, I started using the three-party software for a three-day ticket. I had a ticket of 187 yuan for my home, and I paid more than 2,000 yuan to grab tickets in different trains. In the end, I grabbed D3252 and D2269 No. 4, and a train No. 5, for a total of three sets of tickets. Among them, 10:20 from Wuhan Station D3252 is the most likely to depart in my opinion, first of all, it is the departure from other places, and it is the morning shift, in order to improve the efficiency of ticket grabbing and have seats, this train I chose to buy from the departure station, the fare changed from 187 yuan to 326 yuan, but there are seats throughout the whole process. When I grabbed the ticket, I was still telling my friend that D2269 (17:55 p.m.) would definitely be suspended, after all, the temperature was low at night, and it was a late shift, my friend didn't believe it, and I received the suspension information 1 hour later. At that time, the service could be suspended at any time, and I didn't dare to refund the No. 5 ticket, so I was ready to get on the No. 4 train smoothly and then refund the ticket. I barely slept that night, and kept holding my phone at night to see if the messages would go down. It wasn't until 7:52 a.m. that 12306 showed that the train departed from Nanchang smoothly that I was relieved:This car will definitely be sent later, at most. On the morning of the 4th, the freezing rain disaster in Wuhan has been obvious, the branches have been crumbling, the speed of driving on the road is slow, the road is lined with people removing snow, and there is no taxi, fortunately the subway has not been suspended, and it has arrived at Wuhan Station smoothly. Wuhan Station is crowded with people, and in order to evacuate the crowd, people who drive within 20 minutes can swipe their ID cards to enter the station. However, due to the delay and suspension of too many buses, the density of people in the waiting room is much higher than outside. At this time, due to weather conditions, the number of trains has changed too much, and the announcement on the station display board and mobile phone has completely lagged behind- At that time, my mobile phone showed that the train was 225 minutes late and the big screen at the station was 145 minutes, but the live broadcast suddenly notified me to wait for the train after being 45 minutes late. D3252 became the first train of the day to depart from the platform, and it was lucky to depart. When the car first started, cheers erupted in the carriage, and some people immediately took out their mobile phones to report their safety to their families, "It's open, it's open, this car is open." From his words, he learned that he had been stranded for 24 hours and slept at the station for the night before finally boarding the train. On the way, I saw for the first time what freezing rain is. On the section of the Wuhan-Jingzhou section where the freezing rain was most severe, rain fell on the windows, but it turned into ice within a few minutes, and vehicles could only slow down at a speed of 35 kilometers on the entire section. Hence the previous 1It was a 5-hour drive and a 5-hour drive.

Figure |It was water that fell on the window, but it quickly froze, and it was not until after entering the Yichang section that the train began to run at a speed of 110 kilometers per hour, and it was not until half past seven in the evening that I arrived home without any problems. Originally, the 7-hour return journey from Changsha took 29 hours. In the 48 hours since I arrived home safely on February 4, the impact of the freezing rain in Wuhan is still expanding, and seven parents, most of whom have been trapped in Wuhan for three days, have called me to ask about my experience. Listening to the anxious voices of parents, I could only repeat my "lucky" experience over and over again.

Figure |After successfully boarding the bus, people kept asking about the experience, after all, in extreme weather, it is lucky to be able to go home smoothly.

Itinerary: Shenzhen - Wuhan - **

Total time: 48 hours.

As early as New Year's Day, I was already planning my route home. The Chinese New Year is the peak period of anti-hometown, Shenzhen flies ** less frequency, air tickets are all more than 1,000 yuan, and another 180 yuan of fuel costs, the total cost is more than 1500 yuan, so I plan 2On the 2nd, taking advantage of the cheap air ticket, Shenzhen flew directly to Wuhan, and after meeting with the girlfriend who came back from Beijing to Wuhan to transfer, he took the train back to ** the next day. In this way, my cost is about 900 yuan, and my girlfriend can also save a lot of expenses. Wuhan is a transportation hub in the province, there are many trains, I didn't worry about the ticket problem at all, and I also bought a ticket for February 3, and my girlfriend was a day late for me, and returned to Xuan'en's hometown on the 4th. After I landed on February 2, I felt that it was cold in Wuhan, and there were not enough warm clothes from Shenzhen. Looking at the sub-zero temperature in Wuhan, I joked, is it going to snow, wouldn't it be possible to experience the scenery of the north without leaving the province? My best friend Lehehe even said, then you stay for a few more days and take a good look at the snow. It was originally a joke, but it came true at night. In the evening of the same day, news of delays and suspension of operations came on the Internet one after another - in fact, since February 1st, some high school classmates have complained about the delay situation in Wuhan in the group, but I was in the field at the time and didn't pay attention to it, but when I learned that many trains were suspended, I still felt a little uneasy. In the early morning of February 3rd, my girlfriend and I received notices of suspension one after another, and we began to do various strategies to buy tickets. At the beginning, we comforted each other, and came back from leave in advance to avoid the Spring Festival, and it must be easy to buy tickets. But when we found out early in the morning that the outage caused by extreme weather was getting bigger and bigger, and it was going to last for days, the two of us panicked. My best friend's father experienced the 2008 stay in Guangzhou, and called her early in the morning to ask her to look at the ticket so as not to be stranded in Wuhan. My girlfriend bought a ticket to Enshi on the 5th for 2,700 yuan, and if it can take off smoothly, it only takes 45 minutes to land and then go to transfer, and the daily ticket for this flight is only 200 yuan. And I chose to continue to grab tickets - there is no direct flight from Wuhan to **, and I need to go to Dalian, Kunming, Beijing, Chongqing and other places to transfer, which takes 41 hours, ranging from 3100 yuan to 6500 yuan.

Figure |Most recent flight ticket**In addition to the inability to buy tickets and the news of the suspension of operations, Wuhan's indoor traffic is also close to stagnating, take-out is also beginning to be inconvenient, and news of trees being overwhelmed often comes. Every day, we had to step on the ice to remind us to go to the food shop, worrying that the surrounding buildings would be crushed by the freezing rain.

Figure |Outdoor plants, encased in an ice shellThat's when I decided that I was going to leave Wuhan no matter what. When I searched for tips on the Internet, I learned that due to too many stranded people, the station ticket management is not so strict, as long as you can reach the platform, you can get on a car home casually and go home in the form of ticket supplement. I immediately bought the No. 5 train to Qianjiang in the morning - although the direction is different from my house, as long as I can enter the station, it is easy to say. On the day of the 5th, my girlfriend rushed to the airport early in the morning, and after arriving at the airport, she kept broadcasting the airport news to me. In anxiety, I also rushed to Hankou Station. The hall is like a news distribution center at this time, and I was told that he learned from the staff that every day there will be additional trains at the station according to the detention situationBut some trains will not be found in 12306, so you have to watch the six roads and listen to all directions. At this time, I saw the delay information of the D5223 train bound for **, so I began to wait anxiously. When it came to the ticket check-in, the ones with tickets and those without tickets were divided into two sets one after another, and although I didn't have a ticket, I successfully entered the platform through the manual passage and got on the train. After the door was closed, the sound of "fare payment" sounded in the carriage one after another, and it turned out that many people like me did not have tickets, and they were planning to get on the bus first and then make up. The conductors turned a blind eye until the overweight train could not run, and the conductors had to get the people off the train, and those who were thrown off the train had to wait for an endless time. "I don't care if I want to be embarrassed now, I can't go back if I want to be embarrassed," someone concluded. I squeezed into it again, worried that I would be driven down, and finally arrived at the ** station in the early morning of the 6th. Not long after I arrived home, the news came that the freezing rain that was supposed to be alleviated on the 6th had worsened again, and more than 72 trains were suspended, and I felt lucky at that moment.

Distance: Wuhan - Chongqing

Condition: Stayed for more than 72 hours.

According to the plan, I was going to return to Chongqing from Wuhan on February 3 to prepare for the Chinese New Year. However, after the extreme weather on February 3, planes, flights, and railway trains were affected and suspended, and I was stranded in Wuhan. February 5th was the third day that I arrived in Wuhan from Shanghai to do business. I came to the station to leave Wuhan in this way, because there were too many people who wanted to leave Wuhan in this way, so I couldn't get on the train smoothly and could only continue to stay in Wuhan. Luckily, I grabbed a ticket for the afternoon departure on the 5th. At that time, the hotels around the station had risen from less than 100 yuan per day to 400 yuan, and the taxi price was also 200 yuan. Have you ever seen people sleeping standing up? I'm one of them. There were so many people stranded at the station that there weren't enough seats, and it was easy to be trampled on while squatting on the ground, so I just waited to stand against the wall and close my eyes to recuperate.

Figure |Hankou Station, which was almost paralyzed, just when I thought I would be able to travel smoothly on the 5th, bad news came and the train I purchased was suspended. I realized that if I didn't leave, I would probably have to spend the Chinese New Year in Wuhan, and I would need at least 300 yuan a day for food, drink and accommodation, and the cost was too great, so I had to set my sights on a private car. Carpooling is not available at all times, the price quickly rises from 300 to 500, and you have to find a way to meet at the designated place by yourself. It was a challenge for me, who hadn't rested all night, but at that time, I was full of thoughts that as long as I got out of Wuhan, I would have a way. I kept searching the Internet for information about hitchhiking, and finally found a carpool from Wuhan to Jingzhou, which cost 3,000 yuan and was shared equally by 4 passengers. Then I contacted a private car from Jingzhou to Yichang Three Gorges Airport, and planned to buy a ticket back to Chongqing after arriving in Yichang. At 4 p.m., I got into my private car. Before leaving, the driver's brother took us to replenish the goods onceHe said that the roads are full of strands now, and the 10 yuan a bowl of instant noodles is in short supply, and the cold on the road requires more cold-proof materials. Due to the lack of access to the highway, we chose to take the 318 national highway. The cars on the national highway were crowded with people who, like me, had decided to leave Wuhan first and then find a way. Due to the ice on the road, we have to de-ice before passing, a large number of cars are stranded, and the passage is far away, in order to save fuel consumption, we turned off the air conditioner while waiting, and we all relied on the materials we bought when we set off. There was no hot water on the road, so I could only eat biscuits, and the biscuits were not hungry without oil and water, and I fell into a situation where the more I ate, the more hungry I became. At the same time, looking at the distance that did not know when it would be reached, everyone had to save food and supplies, and the spirit and body fell into a state of extreme poverty at that time. At 12 o'clock in the morning, after driving for 7 hours, we left Wuhan and drove to Hanchuan, which was only more than 100 kilometers away from Wuhan. The thickness of the snow on both sides is not inferior to that of the north, and you can't shovel it with a shovel. There is no shop in front of the village, and going to the toilet has become a big problem. Our boys are okay, the little girl suffers more, and in the end there is no way to solve it with the material bag and the car trash can, and then the little girl cried, she said that she didn't expect to be so embarrassed. All night, we walked slowly on the national highway, and did not arrive in Jingzhou until 7 o'clock in the morning on the 6th. The section from Jingzhou to Yichang is much easier, and after I repaired, I arrived in Yichang in the afternoon and successfully purchased a ticket to Chongqing on the 7th. It is said that now there is a new round of freezing rain in Wuhan, I hope that I can get home smoothly, and I also hope that everyone can get home safely for the New Year.
