At 13:35 on January 31, in the spacious and bright locomotive automatic sand VIP "restaurant", after the hxd1-1393 locomotive and hxd1-1394 locomotive arrived at the specified "dining place", Wu Xianren, an operator of the Huaihua West Maintenance Comprehensive Group of Huaihua Maintenance Workshop, quickly inspected each sand box of the two locomotives, and skillfully picked up the sand gun to sand the 32 sand boxes of the two locomotives one by one.

In less than half an hour, Wu Xianren completed the "meal" service for the two locomotives, which saved at least half of the time compared with the previous manual sand filling and ensured that the locomotives had "sufficient food" for travel.

Well, it's time to sand! In the 26th road of the maintenance yard, Cao Jun and Qi Guijun, operators of the Huaihua Internal Combustion Integration Group, are "diagnosing and treating" the symptoms of "no sand" in the second sand pipe on the right side of the DF4-3109 locomotive. One person controls in the car, one person uses professional tools to dredge the sand pipe under the car, and the two call to respond and cooperate with each other, and the fault handling is completed in less than 10 minutes.

The locomotive is a proper "big stomach". In order to ensure that the locomotive does not drop the chain at the critical moment during the operation, the soles of the locomotive are "not slippery", "grip" is firmer, and the traction is stronger, which requires a lot of "sand".

When the locomotive "cook" maintenance workers find that the sand capacity in the sand box is less than three-quarters, they have to quickly and efficiently prepare enough "grain" for the "stomach" of the locomotive 24 hours a day to ensure that the key moment on the way to the Spring Festival "does not drop the chain".

Brush it and polish the "goggles" of the cart's lookout

Zeng Wen, inspector of Huaihua West Integration Group, is inspecting the "window heating" function of the hxd1-1318 locomotive lookout glass, which is commonly known as electric heating glass with "window heating". I saw Zeng Wen touching the lookout glass with his hand from time to time to check whether it was hot, and then using the locomotive wiper to "de-ice and defog". After just a few brushes, the hazy electric glass, which was originally shrouded in cold air, immediately became clear and bright.

The electric glass is the "goggles" for the locomotive crew's lookout, and the inside is densely embedded with resistance wires thinner than a hair, which is not easy to find if you don't look closely, but it plays an important role in rainy and snowy weather.

In winter, the glass will always form a foggy frost on the surface when the temperature drops, and if it encounters ice and snow, it is easy to accumulate snow or ice, which greatly hinders the sight of the locomotive crew, affecting their observation of the line and confirming the signal. At this time, the "window heating" switch is slightly twisted, and the locomotive crew does not have to worry.

In order to make the "goggles" brighter, the Huaihua maintenance workshop strengthened the appearance, performance and locomotive wiper inspection and test of the electric heating glass of the locomotive in storage to ensure that the electric heating glass is in good condition and good performance and the wipers are working normally, so that the locomotive crew has a wide field of vision, no longer "seeing flowers in the fog", and ensuring the safe operation of the locomotive.

"Iron arm", you have to apply "moisturizer" even when it's cold

In ice and snow weather, we mainly carry out winter maintenance on pantograph steel wool balls, spherical joints, and stop parts. On the roof of the HXD1-1491 locomotive, Ma Pengfei, a neatly dressed roof inspector, is carefully applying petroleum jelly to the key parts of the locomotive's pantograph for special "care".

The roof of the locomotive has a huge "iron arm" at both ends at the front and rear ends - the pantograph. It is an important equipment for receiving current from the catenary, which is mainly composed of a slide plate, an upper frame, a lower arm rod, a base frame, a support insulator and other components. When the pantograph is raised, its slide plate is in contact with the catenary, introducing the current from the catenary to the locomotive, providing a steady stream of traction power for the electric locomotive.

Because the pantograph has to be raised and lowered frequently, and it has to withstand the severe performance test of wind, rain, ice and snow weather, the joints of the various connecting parts of the "iron arm" need to be carefully cared for.

In order to ensure that the pantograph "joints" are not "frostbitten" in ice and snow weather, the Huaihua maintenance workshop strengthens the pantograph inspection and oil maintenance, and the roof inspector should apply petroleum jelly "moisturizer" to the locomotive platform for maintenance. Now, the "iron arm" is no longer afraid of freezing "arthritis" in the cold.

From January 26 to February 4, the Huaihua Locomotive Depot Huaihua Maintenance Workshop has prepared 1,439 electric power and diesel locomotives. Among them, 636 sand adding operations were carried out in the upper sand shed, with a total of about 120 tons of sand, and 463 times of inspection and remediation of the key components of the Harmony locomotive were coated with petroleum jelly for antifreeze oil moistening maintenance and observation glass heating function.

The locomotive maintenance personnel strictly control the quality of the locomotive, and make every effort to ensure the safety of the locomotive in and out of the warehouse and the smooth transportation organization under the Spring Festival and ice and snow weather.
