At the easternmost tip of China's Matsu Islands there is an eastward introduction island, which is close to Lianjiang County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, and is one of the base points of China's territorial waters. The existing area of Dongyi Island is 43 square kilometers, with a population of seven or eight hundred, it is part of the Matsu archipelago.

Dongyin Island used to be called Tung Chung Island, and it is said that it is a nameless island that suddenly emerged in the sea area northeast of Fuzhou, so it was named Tung Chung Island. Some people also say that because the water area of Dongyi Island is very deep, the swell in this area has become significantly larger, so people call the island in the east of Fuzhou "Yong", hence the name Dongchong Island.
Now there are Bei'ao Village, Nan'ao Village, Lion Village, and Xiyin Village on Dongyin Island, and there are villagers living in these villages, whose ancestors are all from Changle, Fujian, and still retain the Fuzhou accent and the living customs of eastern Fujian.

From the air, you can see Higashimiki Island, which is full of granite rocks, surrounded by cliffs, and has no sandy beaches. Such an island is actually a rocky mountain on the bottom of the sea, which is not suitable for cultivation and beach tourism.
The natural conditions of Higashimiki Island are suitable for sea fishing, and the sea is deep and surrounded by many reefs, making it a popular living environment for fish. In the early days, the islanders made a living from fishing, and now there are many villagers who fish, but it is mainly used as a tourist project and has become an ideal sea area for sea fishing.

Tourists can go fishing on Higashiki Island, look at the Matsu Islands from the sea, and walk around Higashigi Island to see that the two islands of Higashikojima and Nishikojima are actually connected by embankments. In the past, these were two islands, separated by only more than 200 meters, and they could be walked through at low tide, but later a dam was built to connect them into one island.

You can take a ship from the wharf of Huangqi Town, Lianjiang County, Fuzhou City to reach Matsu Nangan, and then take a boat from Matsu to Dongyin Island, there is only one boat a day, and you need to plan the travel time and route.
