On February 1, at the first complete machine off the assembly line of the engine "Force-85" of the ** liquid rocket "Gravity II", Chen Yawei, a graduate student of the School of Materials Science and Technology of Tsinghua University, couldn't help but sigh.

From January 29th to February 2nd, the School of Materials Science and Technology of Tsinghua University and the School of Aerospace and Aeronautics focused on the theme of "Science and Technology Casting the National Foundation, Innovation and Cultivating Talents", and formed a 17-member special detachment of "Dream Rocket Journey" to carry out social practice in Liangxi District, Wuxi City.

The members of the detachment walked into the first-class factory of the new generation of liquid launch vehicle engines in Dongfang Space to gain an in-depth understanding of the development and production process of the heavy weapons of the country. **The plant covers an area of about 6,000 square meters, including a 100,000-level valve assembly clean room, a turbine pump assembly and dynamic balancing room, an engine test bench, a test product cleaning bench, etc., which can meet the needs of the "Force-85" development stage, sub-system performance test and engine dismantling, inspection and cleaning after commissioning.

On January 11, the Gravity-1 Yao-1 commercial launch vehicle independently developed by Oriental Space Corporation was successfully launched, and the three satellites carried were successfully sent into the scheduled orbit, refreshing the world's largest solid launch vehicle and China's largest private commercial launch vehicle.

Yao Song, a 2011 alumnus of the Department of Electronic Engineering of Tsinghua University and co-CEO of Oriental Space, introduced to the members of the detachment that as the core power of the "Gravity-2" medium and large liquid launch vehicle, the Force-85 engine can further improve the rocket's carrying capacity to 15-20 tons in low earth orbit, and reduce the cost to the level of SpaceX's "Falcon 9".

Peng Haomin, vice president of Oriental Space, introduced that the Force-85 engine uses liquid oxygen kerosene propellant, which has the characteristics of high reliability, large thrust, reusability, non-toxic environmental protection, and good economy. In the future, the first stage of "Gravity II" will use 9 "Force-85", and the second stage will use 1 "Force-85" vacuum version, which can meet the power needs of the rocket.
