At the meeting, Hou Xuetong, vice president of Beijing Jinghe Cultural Tourism Development Research Institute, released the Chinese and English "Annual Research Report on China's Cultural Industry and Tourism (2023)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report (2023)") The report (2023) is composed of five parts: market review, industry hotspots, policy combing, "Jinghe Cultural Tourism Economic Index" ranking and 2024 Top Ten Trends in Cultural Tourism**.

The report (2023) pointed out that looking back on 2023, the overall development status of the cultural industry and tourism industry will show an accelerated recovery trend, and the potential of supply and demand will continue to be released. The number of tourists has recovered rapidly, and tourism demand has been released in a concentrated manner, but per capita tourism consumption and inbound and outbound tourism have not yet recovered to the level of 2019. At the same time, under the strong promotion of the cultural digitalization strategy, smart tourism will have frequent highlights in 2023, and new spaces, new scenes, and new business formats will continue to emerge.

The report (2023) released the top 10 hot events in the cultural industry and tourism industry. Among them, the Chinese Civilization Exploration Project, the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative, the emotional consumption represented by "Special Forces" tourism and Citywalk, the urban circle of Zibo and Harbin, and the events represented by "Village Super" and "Village BA" to open a new track for rural revitalization were selected.

In 2023, policies in the field of culture and tourism will continue to be intensively introduced, which are closely related to major national strategies and the characteristics of the stage of social and economic development. From the analysis of the text of the cultural and tourism policy, boosting consumption, integrated development, and accelerating transformation are the key words of the cultural and tourism policy in 2023.

A roundtable forum on "Co-creation and Sharing: Cultural Tourism Economy and Urban Development" was also held at the event. At the meeting, Lv Tianzhi, an expert member of the Performance Production Professional Committee of the China Performance Industry Association, said that large-scale performance activities are a trigger scene to promote the upgrading of local cultural tourism and the application of technology, and large-scale performances provide a new cultural tourism carrier for the city. At the same time, emerging scientific and technological means have been able to achieve new breakthroughs and upgrades in major activities.
