Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently reiterated his belief that Apple Vision Pro will be launched in other countries ahead of Apple's annual developer conference, WWDC, in June. The headset debuted in the U.S. earlier this month.
Apple is likely to expand the Vision Pro to more English-speaking countries, such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, while also localizing the VisionOS in preparation for the launch of the headset in countries such as France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.
Kuo said demand for the Vision Pro in the U.S. has "slowed considerably" since the headset was launched in the U.S. on Feb. 2. He estimates that the headset will ship 200,000 to 250,000 units in the U.S. this year, which is better than Apple's initial estimate of 150,000 to 200,000 units, but it's still a "niche market."
In recent weeks, there's been a lot of talk on social about Vision Pro returns. However, based on his inspection of the headset's "repair and refurbishment production line", Kuo estimates that the current return rate is "less than 1%".
All in all, Kuo said the launch of Vision Pro in the U.S. was largely in line with his expectations, exceeding the "expected number of early adopters."
