The villagers in Tang County, Hebei Province are talking about a new thing: the Eighth Route Army actually gave gifts to the bandit Zhang Dianjia, sending food, wine, meat, and money. This is big news, because the Eighth Route Army and the bandits have always been inseparable enemies, and everyone has been talking about it, speculating that there may be something hidden in this.
However, Mr. Jiaoshu said: "Folks, it's too early to draw conclusions, let's see what the Eighth Route Army will do next." ”
At the end of September 1937, the 115th Division won a brilliant victory against the Japanese at Pingxingguan, and the whole people were excited. Soon, the forces of the 115th Division were divided into three parts. Among them, the 344 Brigade led by Huang Kecheng and Yang Dezhi advanced westward, came to Taihang and Taiyue, and established the Shanxi-Hebei-Henan base area.
The division headquarters and the 343 Brigade advanced eastward under the leadership of *** and others, came to the land of Qilu, and opened up the Shandong base area. The political commissar led the division's cavalry battalion, two companies of the teaching team, as well as a special service regiment of the Eighth Route Army Headquarters and a local work group of about 300 people, to the enemy lines in Shanxi and Hebei, and established the Jinchaji anti-Japanese base area.
On the west side of Pinghan County, the cavalry battalion of the 115th Division led by battalion commander Liu Yunbiao and political commissar Xiao Feng successfully opened up the anti-Japanese base area in Beiyue District. In August 1938, Political Commissar Xiao Feng led a part of the soldiers of the cavalry battalion to Tang County, and officially opened the prelude to the Anti-Japanese War in Tang County at the foot of Mahuangtou Village, which was seven or eight miles away from the county seat.
Xiao Feng suffered an accident shortly after, and a group of armed men surrounded the village of Beidiantou in Tang County, where the cavalry battalion was stationed. A big black man at the head rode a white horse, shirtless, with two handfuls of pins diagonally stuck in his waist, and shouted to the sentry, "Let your head come out." ”
When Company Commander Li and Instructor Jia of the cavalry battalion heard about it, they hurried to the outside of the village. Company Commander Li asked: "I am the company commander of the Eighth Route Army, which part are you?" "I'm here to take revenge and hand over Li Hua, Zhang Shengxiang, and Zang Zhi. ”
The big black man shouted, "He killed my brother." When Company Commander Li heard this, they immediately understood. Zhang Shengxiang and Zang Zhi were the responsible persons of the "Tang County Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Association," which was established with the support of the cavalry battalion of the Eighth Route Army.
At that time, there was still an active armed force in Tang County, whose name was "Tang County Maintenance Association", and its members were Liu Yuting, Duan Ziheng, and Xu Duzi, Liu and Xu were bandits, and Duan was the police chief.
The team pulled up by the three of them consisted of about 500 people and more than 200 guns, and although they were against the Japanese, they often harassed the masses and even robbed them, similar to bandits.
After consulting Xiao Feng, Li Hua, Zhang Shengxiang, and Zang Zhi, responsible persons of the Tang County Anti-Japanese Self-Defense Association, set up a plan, pretending that the Eighth Route Army would incorporate this contingent and issue guns to them according to their numbers.
Liu Yuting, Duan Ziheng, and Xu Fool did not want to join the Eighth Route Army, so in order to obtain guns, they pretended to be willing to be absorbed. Zhang Shengxiang and Zang Zhi set up a Hongmen banquet, and with the assistance of Li Zhongqi, deputy commander of the cavalry battalion, they captured and executed the leaders of the "Maintenance Society" and disarmed this unit.
Li Zhongqi and his team set up a Hongmen banquet, and in the name of "replenishing guns", they gathered on the playground and disarmed the other two landlords. Under the banner of the Eighth Route Army, these armed forces distributed grain to the masses, which brought great trouble to the anti-Japanese work.
However, they tried to persuade these people to accept the reorganization of the Eighth Route Army, but they were refused, and they provoked the "Self-Defense Association". Considering their threat, I decided to strike first.
It is worth mentioning that Liu Yuting and Xu, who were executed by our side, were the leaders of the two landlords' armed forces, and they had a deep brotherhood with the black man Zhang Dianjia. Zhang Dianjia was born in a mountain villa, he was born as a bandit, and there were more than 200 people under him.
Later, he raised the banner of anti-Japanese resistance, collected guns and raised funds, and soon expanded his team to more than 600 people, controlled several villages, and became the king. Knowing that his brother was eliminated by the Eighth Route Army, Zhang Dianjia was furious and led his troops to surround the "Self-Defense Association", and the sword was rattling.
Zhang Dianjia threatened: "Hand over the ** who killed my brother, otherwise, I will set foot in Beidiantou Village, and you will never be polite." ”
Company Commander Li and Instructor Jia rushed to the scene and found that the other party had a large number of people, and there would definitely be losses in hard work. So, they decided to take a delaying tactic. Instructor Jia expressed his willingness to negotiate and expressed his respect to Commander Zhang.
Seeing that the other party was so polite, Commander Zhang's anger was half gone, and he asked them to hand over **. Instructor Jia said that he heard that the other party provoked first, and those people did not belong to their management.
Commander Zhang thought about it for a moment and offered to give them some food and money as compensation. Instructor Jia agreed, but on one condition: they could no longer rob the crowd or dwell on the matter.
Commander Zhang agreed, and assured that they would do it. The Eighth Route Army then sent a batch of food and funds to the bandit Zhang Dianjia. The local people did not know about it, and mistakenly thought that the Eighth Route Army was "soft" to the bandits.
But in fact, the cavalry battalion of the Eighth Route Army performed well in the Battle of Pingxingguan and made great contributions to the victory of Pingxingguan.
In October 1938, the Japanese army carried out a "sweep" in the hinterland of China's Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei region. During this period, Liu Yunbiao, who was seriously ill, led his cavalry battalion to travel more than 300 kilometers in 10 hours to successfully surprise the Japanese headquarters in Gaomen Town, destroying the enemy's command center and injecting new hope into the anti-Japanese action.
However, Zhang Dianjia didn't know that the sky was high and the earth was thick, and mistakenly thought that the Eighth Route Army was afraid of him, and boasted everywhere: "The devil is afraid of the Eighth Route Army, and the Eighth Route is afraid of my old Zhang ......."Although the Eighth Route Army gave him supplies in order to unite against the Japanese, he got carried away and began to loot the people after wasting it.
Although Zhang Dianjia himself is more trustworthy, his brother-in-law Yang Huozi hid it from him and let his subordinates continue to behave mischief, which made Zhang Dianjia very helpless. In the end, the masses were overwhelmed and went to the county government of Tang County to complain.
The county ordered Captain Zhu Yangxing and political commissar Zhang Yichen to lead the 11th Brigade of Tang County to attack Zhang Dianjia and eliminate harm for the people. Since the two knew that they were not Zhang Dianjia's opponents, they asked the cavalry battalion for help.
Liu Yunbiao didn't know about the transaction between the Eighth Route Army and Zhang Dianjia, and after hearing about it, he decided to go to reconnoiter in person. He took off his military uniform and disguised himself as a peasant, and learned that Zhang Dianjia's headquarters was located in the home of a large landowner surnamed Liu in the center of Shanyangzhuang Village, and that the three brigades under his command lived in the nearby villages of Xiaowangjing, Xigang, and Donggang.
He decided to teach Zhang Dianjia a lesson and correct the name of the Eighth Route Army.
At dusk, the sunset was like blood, and Liu Yunbiao led the cavalry battalion to set off bravely. Zhang Dianjia is obviously not a fuel-efficient lamp, as a former Fengjun company commander, he understands the way of military affairs.
At his headquarters, he set up three sentry posts and also set up machine guns on the landlord's house to guard against the Eighth Route Army and the Japanese army. However, no matter how cunning he was, he could not withstand the attack of the cavalry of the Eighth Route Army.
The cavalry battalion was divided into three routes, directly attacking the enemy's three brigades, and Liu Yunbiao led a platoon to rush straight to Zhang Dianjia"Headquarters"。
Liu Yunbiao's cavalry battalion is an elite unit that has experienced a hundred battles, formed in 1935, and has made miraculous achievements in many battles. They are extremely fast, like lightning, and can quickly reach the enemy's headquarters.
In one battle, they smashed into the enemy's headquarters at an astonishing speed, killing the arrogant bandit leader Zhang Dianjia. Several of their other cavalry also quickly swept away three battalions, essentially annihilating the enemy.
After this battle, there were no more obstacles to the anti-Japanese work in Tang County, the enthusiasm of the masses was ignited, and the life of the Japanese army was even more difficult. Liu Yunbiao was a brave warrior who died of illness in 1942 at the age of 28.
In order to commemorate him, the Jin-Cha-Ji Border Region renamed Xinwang County as Yunbiao County. His heroic deeds and spirit will always be remembered.
