The 2024 Annual Meeting in Davos will bring together more than 2,800 leaders from 120 countries to discuss the theme of "Rebuilding Trust".

Increasing social polarization and uncertainty are continuing to cause global instability. To that end, the 2024 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting will bring together more than 2,800 leaders from around the world to drive dialogue, strengthen cooperation and deepen partnerships to address the world's major challenges.

We are faced with a world of excellence and increasing social divisions, which have led to increasingly widespread uncertainty and pessimism. What we need is not just crisis management, but to rebuild trust in the future by looking at the root causes of current problems and building a more promising future together. In terms of global cooperation, the Forum recently released the "Global Cooperation Barometer", which highlights the key areas where cooperation can still be achieved in an increasingly competitive global environment, laying the foundation for the best on global cooperation. On the economic front, a number of sessions will delve into the latest economic developments, including industrial strategies, debt, the new normal of high interest rates, the outlook for the job market, etc., with the participation of leaders from international organizations and financial institutions, as well as top economists. The Forum's first "Future Growth" initiative will launch a two-year program dedicated to improving the quality of economic growth. The Forum's Global Risks Report 2024, released ahead of the Annual Meeting, will identify key global risks in the near and next decade, while the latest Chief Economist Outlook report will present an analysis of expectations for the global economy in 2024.

On climate, nature and energy, the Forum will build on the momentum and positive outcomes of COP28 to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to scale up the deployment of renewable energy to improve energy efficiency and meet energy demand, and further protect and restore nature. The Forum will advance work on key initiatives, including the Alliance of First Movers, the CEO Climate Leaders Alliance, and the Financing the Net Zero Transition initiative, as well as new initiatives to mobilize the energy transition needed in the Global South to unleash the power of investment for a nature-positive future.

On the technology side, the forum aims to understand and manage risks while maximizing the opportunities presented by rapid technological development. During the Annual Meeting, the Forum will release a global cybersecurity outlook and insights on artificial intelligence. The sessions will advance the work of the Edison Alliance to further advance digital inclusion and continue the work of the AI Governance Coalition to advocate for the responsible design, development, and deployment of inclusive AI systems around the world.

In terms of human development, the Annual Meeting will focus on people-centred economic and technological transformation. A number of sessions will address issues such as income inequality, social mobility, modern supply-side economics, gender equality, improving health and enhancing well-being. Key initiatives include the Reskills Revolution and Accelerating Gender Equality, as well as the latest initiatives around a just transition and equality in women's health.

Thirty-five cultural leaders will participate in the arts and culture agenda, including the 30th annual Crystal Awards, which focuses on the protection of the Amazon River and its indigenous communities, the fight for gender equality, and the need to address forced evictions, natural disasters, pollution of the planet, and the need to preserve mental health and well-being.
