As an important green ecological barrier in the northwest of Beijing, Changping District shoulders the tasks of desertification prevention and control, ecological construction and environmental protection in the capital, and undertakes the important task of building a livable new city for science and education in Northwest China. With a high sense of responsibility and mission, the Ecological Construction Management Section of the District Landscaping Bureau has gone all out to devote itself to the work of desertification prevention and control, and the area of desertified land in the region has been significantly reduced, the forest and grass vegetation has increased significantly, and the ecological situation has been fundamentally improved. It was awarded the "General Model" of Changping District in December 2023.
The Ecological Construction Management Section of the District Landscaping Bureau has been persevering in desertification prevention and control, relying on the Beijing-Tianjin sand source control forestry project, and adopting a series of sandy land management measures such as returning farmland to forest supporting barren mountain afforestation, artificial barren mountain afforestation, and aerial seeding afforestation, and has completed a total of more than 110 million mu of afforestation projects by 2023, effectively curbing the expansion of the desert and restoring the vegetation cover of large areas of sandy land.
The Ecological Construction Management Section of the District Landscaping Bureau also pays attention to the restoration and protection of the ecosystem, through the afforestation of colored tree species, vegetation restoration, and the integration of landscape corridors, etc., to effectively promote the increase of plant diversity and the stability of the ecosystem, and complete the restoration of forest vegetation of nearly 300 acres in the past year, the ecological environment has been well improved, and has successfully created three ecological landscape corridors, namely the Beijing-Tibet Expressway (Changping Section) Landscape Improvement Project, Xingyan Expressway (Changping Section) Green Channel Construction Project, The construction project of the green channel of the Changping section of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway, with a total green area of 2480,000 acres.
In 2023, we will take the construction of the Garden City Pilot Demonstration Zone of the North Central Axis Extension Line as the starting point, and rely on a number of major national and municipal projects such as the three national cultural belts, Changping New Town, and Erdao Green Partition, and preliminarily plan to form 88 reserve projects, and focus on the feasibility study of key projects such as Changping New Town Ecological Leisure Park (Jiuli Mountain), Baishan Forest Park, and Future Science City Ecological Leisure Park. According to the relevant person in charge of the Ecological Construction Management Section of the District Landscaping Bureau, through the completion of the preliminary feasibility study of the Yanshan Mountain Ecological Comprehensive Management (Changping District) project, 4The suitability assessment of 50,000 acres of afforestation and green space ensures the accurate implementation of afforestation planning, strengthens the integrity of sand and dust source control, and lays the foundation for sustainable development in the future.
Since the implementation of the desertification prevention and control project, the forest coverage rate of the whole region has increased from 2579% to 4863%, overall PM2The five-year average concentration dropped to 27 micrograms of cubic meters, and the air quality improved steadily. At the same time, by promoting the construction of desertification prevention and control projects, the ecological environment of mountainous areas has also been improved, the production, living conditions and investment environment of the surrounding rural areas have been optimized, the regional economic restructuring and the transformation of production and operation modes have been promoted, and the coordinated development of the region has been promoted.
