Fan Zhendong and Sun Yingsha lead the ITTF World Rankings in the 6th week
On February 6, Beijing time, WTT officially released the global ranking for the sixth week of 2024, and because only one of the smaller WTT competitions was canceled last week, this list did not have much impact on national table tennis.
This week, the main players of national table tennis Fan Zhendong and Sun Yingsha took the lead in the men's singles rankings, while France's Felix Lebrun and Japan's Waseda Honan still ranked first; ITTF's Fan Zhendong, Wang Chuqin, Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha remain firmly in the top spot in the men's and mixed doubles, while South Korea's Tian Zhixi and Shin Yubin remain firmly in the women's singles title.
Due to the impact of the World Table Tennis Championships in Busan, there are few international events in the table tennis world recently, and there are not many outstanding players to participate. As mentioned earlier, last week's World Championships in Manchester, England, featured only one relay event at the lowest level of the World Championships, with China and Japan both excluded and most of the famous athletes not participating.
South Korea's Cho Dae-sung finished first in the men's singles, moving up 19 spots to 51. After the famous American Zhang An won the gold medal in the women's singles, she moved up five places to 32nd, but this did not have much impact on the world landscape.
During this time, the top 10 men's singles players were: Fan Zhendong, Wang Chuqin, Ma Long, Liang Jingkun, Lin Gaoyuan, Felix, Hugo, Lin Yunru, Zhang Benzhihe, Lin Shidong, Sun Yingsha, Wang Yidi, Chen Meng, Wang Manyu, Chen Yutong, Qian Tianyi, Shen Yubin, Han Ying, Ito Ito.
Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha's rankings in the mixed doubles are already very stable, while in the men's singles, Fan Zhendong Wang Chuqin, women's singles Tian Zhixi Shen Yubin, Zhang Yuzhen Lin Zhongxun, Sun Yingsha Wang Manyu, there is only a gap of more than 1,000 points, and the gap is not very large.
Another major competition will be held in February, and that is the Busan Series. Although it is a team event, according to the information recently released by FINA, this event can increase the ranking of players in the single event, so many of the top players who withdrew from the previous edition, such as Bray and Ocharov, are actively involved in this event.
Up to now, the national table tennis team has not announced the names of the contestants, the biggest question is Chen Xingtong and Qian Tianyi, the remaining nine places have been basically fixed, let's look forward to it together!
