It is not uncommon to see comments like this on the Internet:Confucianism has poisoned China for thousands of years。So is Confucianism the kind of pedantic thinking that people say?
**Say:Without investigation, there is no voice.
I am relatively fortunate to have read a lot of Confucian classics, and my current style of acting is somewhat consistent with what Confucianism advocates. So I feel like I can have some say.
I don't know why so many people say that Confucianism is pedantic and harmful. Anyway, from my personal experience, I don't think so, I used to accept Western ideas that everyone is equal, but this is not the case in real life.
The idea that everyone is equal is like a means of creating dreams, which is unrealistic and too illusory. We can see from many places that everyone is equal and false, such as luxury houses, rich areas, luxury cars, luxury goods, etc., which are actually dividing people into three, six, nine and so on.
If Western thinking were really advanced, then there would be no mansions, rich areas, luxury cars, luxury goods, and so on. There is also the racial discrimination that prevails in the Western world. As a native Chinese, there is no discrimination against ethnic minorities, some are just curious!
If Western thinking is advanced, then racial discrimination should be a higher ideology. As a native Chinese, my curiosity about ethnic minorities and equal treatment should be a low-level and backward idea.
Some people may say, no! You are influenced by the advanced ideas of the West. If I am influenced by the advanced ideas of the West, should I be racist?
But I didn't, why? Because I read a lot of Confucian classics, I changed after reading a lot of Confucian classics.
I began to respect life, respect others, know my insignificance, and revere everything in nature. You can call me superstitious, or you can call me a god.
To tell you the truth, after learning Confucianism, I looked weaker and easier to bully because I didn't get angry easily. But if it comes to core interests, fundamental interests later.
I'm going to be very steely, and you might wonder why you're suddenly brave when you're timid. Because after reading the Confucian classics, I have a rod and scale in my heart! Reason goes all over the world, and it is difficult to move an inch without reason。Nowadays the law will make me timid, but Confucianism will make me dare to sacrifice my life for righteousness!
Being able to treat others as equals and be at peace with others is what traditional Chinese literature and traditional thinking have given me.
What I want to tell you here is that Confucianism is a philosophy of accession to the WTO. He is the guiding ideology of the behavior of the strong. Think about it, a gentleman wants to learn the six arts, and the result is a humanistic and martial arts, can he be a rookie?
A person who is both civil and military, encounters the provocation of a weak chicken in society, if he does not know how to control his emotions, and does not directly swing a knife to cut the other party without these thoughts, it will not be chaotic!
Therefore, Confucianism encourages Confucian students to be benevolent and know how to control themselves!
To learn Confucianism and practice Confucian culture, there must be a premise, and you are full of martial virtues. When the bad guy comes to hurt you, you can solve the other person with one sword, and only with this ability can you be qualified to tell the other person about kindness!
Otherwise, you will learn to be a turtle with a shrunken head and hide in the shell of the turtle, and don't come out to hang around and beg for a fight!
So what are the six arts of a gentleman? The six arts are the collective name of the six skills of etiquette, music, archery, royalty, calligraphy, and mathematics, which originated in the Zhou Dynasty and gradually died out in the Tang Dynasty with the emergence of the imperial examination system.
When you see the above, you should know that behind Confucianism is a change of taste. Etiquette, music, archery, and royalty may have been abandoned. Therefore, our understanding of Confucianism has deviated from its roots.
Confucianism is an important philosophical thought that emphasizes the relationship between people, between people and society, and between people and nature. The core of Confucianism is "benevolence", that is, loving one's neighbor as oneself, respecting others, respecting society, and respecting nature.
Historically, Confucianism has been criticized by some as the root of "decadence." However, this statement is not accurate. Confucianism is not the root of decay, but provides a philosophical framework for thinking and acting.
Confucianism emphasizes human morality, etiquette, and cultural accomplishment. It emphasizes harmony, respect and trust between people. This kind of thinking helps to cultivate people's moral concepts and codes of conduct, and promotes the stability and prosperity of society.
Of course, any kind of thought has its limitations and flaws. In practice, overemphasizing Confucianism, or applying it to inappropriate occasions, can lead to a number of problems. However, this does not mean that Confucianism itself is the source of "decadence".
Therefore, we should look at Confucianism with an open and inclusive attitude, take its essence and remove its dross, and apply it to modern society to promote harmony between people and social progress and development.
