Welcome to the Natural Night Reading.
In the blink of an eye, Chinese New Year's Eve is here, and the old is welcome to the new. At this warm and unforgettable moment of family reunion, my colleague Wang Shaoyong is carrying out the 40th Antarctic expedition in Antarctica. Today's natural night reading, let's listen to what Wang Shaoyong, who participated in the Antarctic scientific expedition for the first time, said?
Wang Shaoyong: At Zhongshan Station in Antarctica, China, a group of Adélie penguins walked into my lens, and they are "regulars" here. Zhongshan Station is the second Antarctic research station built in China, and since the first Antarctic expedition in 1984, the history of China's Antarctic expedition has entered the 40th year. The pace of Chinese exploration continues to advance to the hinterland of Antarctica, and the Great Wall Station, Zhongshan Station, Taishan Station, Kunlun Mountain have been built, and the fifth Antarctic research station has just been completed.
As a special correspondent of China Natural Resources News, I had the honor to take part in China's 40th Antarctic expedition aboard the Snow Dragon, which departed from Shanghai on November 1 last year, and it has now been 100 days. During this time, we crossed the "Roaring Westerly Wind Belt" three times, experienced 5 meters of waves and 30 degrees of roll, and sailed between icebergs in ice-dense areas, while inland team members marched to the highest point of the Antarctic ice sheet and continued to reach farther places.
It was my first time in the crystal clear and tranquil Antarctic, and I was amazed again and again by the wonders of nature, with icebergs in all its forms, white desert-like ice caps, penguins, seals, whales and albatrosses. I never thought I'd go this far.
Sometimes, when faced with the vastness of the ocean, I also think that the boundaries of life do not only exist in physical places.
Life is like a long journey, and along this path, we continue to improve our inner cultivation, spiritual realm and professional standards, and become a better version of ourselves.
Some people have been guarding an island and reef for decades, some people have spent their lives looking for clues to mineral deposits in the mountains and wilderness, some people have made a map beautifully and beautifully, and some people have left a bright smile at the real estate registration window, and they have all used their own steps to continue to reach farther places.
This is true even in ordinary life, when we shoulder the responsibility of life and face difficulties and setbacks, it is like bravely crossing the westerly wind belt, and when we overcome new challenges, it is like fearlessly breaking the ice.
The road of life is to be walked out step by step. Strive to move forward in the direction of your heart, and in this life, you can reach farther places.
Dear friends, I would like to send you New Year wishes on board the Snow Dragon, wishing you an auspicious and smooth sailing in the Year of the Dragon. Let us look forward to the complete success of China's 40th Antarctic expedition.
