If the three row BMW X8 is introduced to the Chinese market, will you choose it?

The coronavirus pandemic has brought the global economy and the automotive industry to a standstill. BMW has developed several new models. When BMW's Rockstar project eventually became BMW's XM project, it was reported that BMW would also launch another SUV model, which would be named the X8.

Although the BMW X8 has not made substantial progress in the past few years, it is reported that the BMW X8 is under development, and the product positioning of the car is higher than that of the X7 model.

News about the BMW X8 was first reported in 2017**, well before the launch of the first BMW X7 model. The BMW X8 is a three-row seating model. Klaus Fr Hlich, Head of R&D at BMW, said: "The three-row SUV segment is currently on a rapid upward trend, and there are still opportunities for the BMW X8. In Fr Hlich's view, there is a market space for the BMW X8, such as the Chinese market. However, the jury is still out on the BMW X8, as each BMW model has its own unique characteristics, and it still needs time to verify the market segment that the BMW X8 faces.

However, subsequent reports have proved the existence of the BMW X8. Until 2020, the BMW M project involved the BMW X8. The designation of the BMW X8 M has also sparked further speculation about the BMW two-row seater, the X8 coupe, which will be more sporty than the X7.

Previously, the Rockstar project had said that it would launch an M version of the BMW X8, but this model eventually abandoned the X8 M model name and eventually named it XM.

At present, it is also reported that BMW XM will launch an entry-level XM50E model, which will be equipped with a plug-in hybrid system. If we follow the logic that the BMW XM replaces the BMW X8 M, then the XM50E may be the entry-level X8 model.

So why did BMW abandon the X8 model name? The reason is that the market is shifting to high-end SUV models, and the global coronavirus pandemic is also a factor that cannot be ignored.

Before 2020, the BMW X8 project still exists, and in the eyes of most consumers, BMW will launch this luxury X8 model, with the X8 M as the top-of-the-line model. However, due to the reasons mentioned above, BMW canceled the development of the IM model. This means that BMW does not have an M version of the high-performance car to compete with the Audi R8 and Mercedes-Benz AMG GT models.

However, the SUV market and the market sales of luxury brand models do not seem to have been affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, and the sales of Bentley, Rolls-Royce and other super-Chinese brands have made history.

BMW's M version was sold out of stock. The BMW XM came into being. The ultra-luxury SUV segment is the demand for market development, and more and more consumers are starting to drive Lamborghini Urus and Mercedes-Benz big G. Some consumers are also looking forward to driving BMW's corresponding class models. And this is why BMW is the reason why market demand has led to the launch of the XM model.

Theoretically, the BMW X8 is necessary, so in practice, will BMW mass-produce the BMW X8?

In the opinion of an overseas **, this kind of performance is also possible. If it does not meet BMW's expected business goals, the next generation of the XM may be launched, but it will be rebranded in accordance with BMW's traditional operating practices. Historically, the BMW 6 Series was upgraded to the 8 Series to appeal to high-end consumers, while the BMW 5 Series GT model was named the 6 Series.

So are you expecting the BMW X8 to get it?
