I have loved movies since I was a child, and chose to study film in the United States, where the film industry is most developed.
Xiaomei: How did you get into film?
Mr. Zheng
I have loved watching movies since I was a child, and since high school, I have been clear about my future education. After having the opportunity to study film abroad in graduate school, I resolutely seized the opportunity to really study film.
Xiaomei: Why did you choose to study abroad? What did this experience teach you?
Mr. Zheng
I chose to study abroad in order to study film in the most developed place in the film industry. In addition to learning professional film production knowledge, studying abroad is more about meeting a lot of like-minded friends and partners.
Loyola Marymount University's curriculum at LMU is simple to deep. Most of the graduate students are interdisciplinary students, and the first graduate school is more like a process of getting acquainted with the environment and understanding the film. Research two and three are two years of technology improvement. The school's facilities are arguably the best in the entire Los Angeles school. Mr. Zheng
Film and television production is subdivided into director, production, photography, art, editing, sound, and film studies. Graduate students in film production generally have no requirements for students' professional backgrounds, and even prefer students who change majors, preferring groups from different academic backgrounds. For undergraduates, there is no requirement even more. The examination of portfolios focuses on students' storytelling skills.
Xiaomei: What do you think of the level of film and television production of Chinese and foreign college students?
Mr. Zheng
Foreign films started early, like the United States, which has formed its own unique film industry chain, and the United States has its own directors' union, screenwriters' union, actors' union, etc. And the industrial chain that has been formed separately is the world-class film factory that Hollywood is proud of.
China started relatively late, the domestic environment is more restricted, and students' thinking is more restricted.
In addition, the atmosphere of foreign movies is very good, and people around me are talking about and studying movies, which will immerse you in it all the time, and you can make movies with your friends and grow together. Unlike China, it is difficult for students to immerse themselves in the film environment all the time.

I was afraid that no school would want me, so I applied to 8 schools, and only dared to apply to 3 of the top 10. At that time, it took 9 months to prepare 8 portfolios. But if I had gone to an institution at that time, I would have had a more comprehensive understanding of the school, and I would have saved a lot of energy to sprint to the top of the rankings.
