Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Euro-Atlantic Integration Olha Stefanishna responded to the issue of discrimination against the Russian-speaking population of Ukraine. She stressed that there is no Russian minority in Ukraine, so there is no question of the need to protect the Russian language.

She made these statements at a press conference on the results of the report of the European Commission on the progress of Ukraine's accession within the framework of the expanded package, answering the question of whether the protection of the Russian language in Ukraine is still relevant to EU accession, according to the UNIAN correspondent.

There is no Russian minority in Ukraine, it does not exist. No. A legal community, calling itself an ethnic Russian community. Some Ukrainians speak Russian, like I'm from Odessa, I speak Russian when I want to, but I don't want to. There are no ethnic Russians in Ukraine," said Stefanishina.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Oleksey Danilov, also said that in Ukraine, no one is forbidden to speak Russian in everyday life, but according to the legislation of the service industry, the Ukrainian language is mandatory. The use of the Ukrainian language is compulsory, especially in the east.
