On July 14, 1912, a Japanese athlete from Japan, Shizo Kaneuri, participated in the Summer Olympic marathon held in Stockholm, Sweden, and he was also the first Asian athlete in history to participate in the Olympic marathon. Since it took several months to travel from Japan to Sweden by boat, and after arriving in Sweden, Kaneri Shizo's competitive state was greatly affected.

The start of the marathon.

The weather was hot on the day of the race, and in the middle of the race, Shizo Kanaguri already felt a little exhausted, and his mouth was dry and he was almost unable to continue the game. At this time, he wanted to seek some supplies from the residents along the way, and take a break before continuing the race. A welcoming Swedish resident invited him to his home and entertained him well, but unexpectedly, the well-fed Kaneguri Shizo fell asleep unconsciously.

When the race ended, the race staff at the finish line couldn't find Shizo Kaneri. This is very busy with the organizing committee, and even used the radio to ** the missing person notice, but there has been no news.

Kanaguri Shizo wakes up late, and embarrassed, he secretly returns to Japan by boat the next day, but he becomes a mysterious figure who "disappeared" in Sweden.

In 1962, 50 years after his "disappearance", a Swedish journalist finally found Shizo Kaneri, who had become a geography teacher in Japan.

In 1966, 54 years after he competed, the elderly Kanaguri returned to his hometown and found the place where he had given up racing. At the age of 76, Shizo Kanaguri decided to start over from the place where he had given up the race, and walked to the Stockholm Olympic Stadium, the finish line of the marathon at the time, to complete the unfinished race that was his wish.

Shizo Kaneri finally reached the finish line of the marathon.

In the end, Shizo Kanaguri reached the finish line, with a time of 54 years, 8 months, 6 days, 8 hours, 32 minutes and 20 seconds, which is perhaps the longest marathon runner to finish.
