On the road to research, specialization and exposition are two indispensable steps. In the process of reading medical books, we should first grasp the context of them from a macro perspective, and then go down to the details. This is a question worth going deep into.
In my opinion, we should first conduct a macro expo, and then we should carry out a micro specialization. This is because I think a gradual, step-by-step approach to learning is very important. In my own academic career, I have chosen a path from Bo to Appointment. I chose the Neijing as the focus of my research, and Suwen occupies an important place in this classic.
However, the eighty-one articles of Suwen are so rich that it is impossible for me to read them all as a focus. Therefore, I have chosen some of these chapters for in-depth research, such as the 12 articles on the "Thorn Method" and the Seven Treatises on the "Fortune of the Year", etc., although the content of these chapters is important, in my opinion, it does not require too much energy to study in depth.
In contrast, although the Lingshu is considered to be a work after the Neijing, some of its chapters are not inferior in value to Suwen. For example, there are one or two chapters in each volume as a key study, such as "Evil Qi and Viscera Disease", "Divine Spirit", and "Meridians".
Han Yu's "specialization in the art industry" means that in the academic field, it is necessary to focus on a certain field for in-depth research. Of course, I don't dare to be a specialized scholar, but I can improve my academic level by abiding by the contract. In fact, the discussion on the changes of yin and yang, viscera, meridians, diseases, and treatment in "Su Wen" is the focus of my intensive study. In addition, the chapters on acupuncture and fortune are also rich in academic value and worthy of in-depth exploration.
During the reading, I also realized that there are some important details that need to be paid attention to. For example, the thirteen characters mentioned in the "Zhou Li" that "the disease doctor regards life and death as the five qi, five sounds, and five colors" contain the essence of the diagnosis method of "Su Wen", which is the key content that I need to master.
In addition, when reading the commentaries of each family, in addition to the aforementioned seven schools (Wang, Ma, Erzhang, Li, Wu, and Gao), I also do not dabble in other contents in principle. This will prevent you from being incompetent or overwhelmed.

I deeply realize that the breadth and profundity of the Neijing is truly breathtaking.
