The "Anxin Dolphin" plum blossom slices produced by Taiwan Sugar were found to contain clenbuterol cibuterol, which is banned in Taiwan. (*Taiwan TVBS).
According to comprehensive Taiwan media reports, a few days ago, the Taichung City Health Bureau inspected the "safe dolphin" plum meat slices produced by Taichung Sugar that contained clenbuterol cibutrol, which is banned in Taiwan, but it evolved into a "Rashomon" that can be detected in Taichung but cannot be detected by the authorities. After Taiwan Sugar submitted an application for re-inspection, Taiwan's "Food and Drug Administration" and the Taichung City Health Bureau respectively took half of the remaining plum meat slices for re-inspection. This morning (7th), Taiwan's "Food and Drug Administration" announced the results and said that it confirmed the detection of cibutrol.
Taiwan's "Food and Drug Administration" Wu Xiumei said that the results of three consecutive tests were: 00013ppm、0.0014ppm、0.0014ppm, because it could not be rounded, was finally announced as a detection of 0001ppm (some Taiwanese media reported that the result was 0.)002ppm), it can be determined that it does contain cibutrol.
However, Wu Xiumei claimed that the test value was very low, close to the test limit, and there was no clear toxicity data. She also reassured that people can still "eat pork with peace of mind" during the Chinese New Year.
The Taichung City Health Bureau revealed that the next step will be to see where the plum blossom meat slices originated in accordance with the relevant regulations on the island, and then the local health department and agricultural units will track, clarify and fine.
