The 2024 China Singapore Economic Cooperation Forum will be held in Singapore

SINGAPORE, Feb. 2 (Xinhua) -- The 2024 China-Singapore Economic Cooperation Forum was held in Singapore on Feb. 1. Co-hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Singapore Business Federation, the forum aims to provide positive support for Chinese and Singapore enterprises to strengthen exchanges and cooperation, and promote economic and trade cooperation between the two countries to a new level.

Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, led a delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs to attend the event. The event was attended by Minister of State, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Industry, and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, Liew Yin Ling, and Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation, Lim Beng Yan, among others.

Ren Hongbin said that in recent years, China-Singapore economic and trade cooperation has been continuously strengthened, showing strong vitality and resilience. China has been Singapore's largest partner for 10 consecutive years, and Singapore has remained China's largest new investment country for 10 consecutive years. Enterprises of the two countries have worked together to explore the "Belt and Road" market, and have achieved fruitful results in infrastructure, financial technology, legal services, third-party market cooperation and other fields. The 2nd China International ** Chain Promotion Expo will be held from November 26 to 30 this year. We sincerely invite relevant institutions and enterprises in Singapore to actively participate in creating a more wonderful global economic and trade event.

Liu Yanling said that the agreement signed by Singapore and China at the end of last year to further upgrade the protocol will help formulate more business-friendly regulations, bring more investment opportunities for Singapore and Chinese enterprises, and strengthen economic connectivity between the two countries.

During the event, CCPIT renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Singapore Business Federation. China Exhibition Group signed a letter of intent with Singapore Golden Eagle Group and Rio Tinto Group to participate in the second Chain Expo.

According to reports, the delegation of Chinese entrepreneurs includes relevant departments of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, a number of local and industry CCPIT, and representatives of more than 60 Chinese enterprises. About 120 representatives of Singapore companies attended the forum.
