Chiang Kai shek regretted it for 47 years, and later learned that the chairman was wise

On August 7, 1947, in Yan'an, outside the cave where the chairman lived, Chiang Kai-shek silently stared at an object, feeling remorseful. He knew that he would not be able to replicate ***'s superb wisdom no matter what.

At the critical moment when the Liberation War was heating up, why did Lao Jiang visit Yan'an? What did he witness to be so convinced of ***? Today, let's unravel this mystery together.

Hu Zongnan's "great victory" in northern Shaanxi Hu Zongnan and Lao Jiang are fellow villagers, with an age difference of 9 years. In 1924, Hu Zongnan was admitted to the Whampoa Military Academy, when Lao Jiang was the principal, so they nominally had a teacher-student relationship.

Hu Zongnan, under the recommendation of Dai Li in 1926, joined Lao Chiang's iron-core First Army, participated in the Northern Expedition and the Central Plains War, and won several victories, which was favored by Lao Chiang.

In 1931, Hu Zongnan was promoted to lieutenant general and division commander and became one of the "Thirteen Taibao" under Lao Chiang. Lao Jiang is very angry with his rivers and lakes, and when he sees Hu Zongnan in private, he always pats him on the shoulder and calls him "Brother Hu".

Hu Zongnan deeply felt the kindness of Lao Jiang and was loyal to him.

Figure 3: Since 1932, Hu Zongnan has been ordered to be the enemy of the Red Army and has participated in many "suppression of the Communist Party". However, he was able to show his majesty when fighting the warlords, but he was often defeated when facing the communist army.

In 1935, while harassing the Long March, he was even almost captured by the Red Army. The following year, in northern Shaanxi, he was beaten by General *** again. This made Hu Zongnan feel deeply embarrassed and felt sorry for Lao Jiang's cultivation of him.

Therefore, he firmly believed that it was his conviction to defeat the communist army.

In January 1940, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression entered a climax, but Lao Chiang was still obsessed with the idea of "fighting outside must first secure the interior", and privately instructed Hu Zongnan to invade and occupy five counties in the Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningbo border region of our party.

Lao Jiang was not satisfied, his goal was to occupy Yan'an and solve the problem once and for all. However, he absolutely cannot afford to destroy the notoriety of the War of Resistance. Therefore, in July 1940, Chiang Kai-shek sent Chen Lifu to Xi'an as a confidant to encourage Hu Zongnan to take action.

Chen Lifu bluntly told Hu Zongnan that ** was fighting against Japan on the front line in Shanxi, Yan'an was empty, and he could take the opportunity to take it and help Chiang Kai-shek get rid of the "big trouble", and the glory and wealth in the future were just around the corner.

However, after careful consideration, Hu Zongnan realized that Yan'an was the seat of the CCP, and at this time the attack would be reviled by the people of the whole country. After a night of repeated thinking, he decided to wait for Chiang Kai-shek's orders before acting.

Figure 6: Seeing this, Chen Lifu had no choice but to give up, and the matter was finally settled. In July 1943, Hu Zongnan felt that he owed something to Lao Chiang, so he decided to plan a surprise attack on Yan'an.

However, because his confidential secretary Xiong Xianghui was an underground worker of our party, and he passed the information to *** in a timely manner, he had been prepared for this, so Hu Zongnan's plan failed in the end.

Since then, Hu Zongnan's obsession with capturing Yan'an has deepened.

In 1947, during the Liberation War, Hu Zongnan finally waited for his opportunity to "show his talents". On March 10, he received an order from Chiang Kai-shek to capture Yan'an.

Hu Zongnan was extremely excited, because this was the third time he had received such an opportunity, and it was also a critical moment for him to establish his "immortal merit". With 150,000 troops in his hands, as well as the support of aircraft, tanks and artillery, he firmly believed that he would be able to capture this "poor and white" Yan'an.

Figure 8: Grandpa Mao's foresight played a role at a critical moment. The underground workers of our party keenly grasped the enemy's intelligence and delivered it in a timely manner, so they calmly analyzed the current situation and realized that the strength of our army was not enough to confront the enemy.

He wisely decided to transfer, not being confined to the gains and losses of one city and one place, and at the same time accurately understanding the psychology of the enemy army. He humorously said that Chiang Kai-shek had the spirit of Ah Q and thought that the occupation of Yan'an was equivalent to victory, but this was only a self-deceptive idea.

It turned out that after Hu Zongnan's troops entered Yan'an, their fate of defeat was already doomed. Grandpa Mao and his comrades-in-arms calmly left Yan'an, and also reminded the troops to clean the yard of the house, showing the rigor and elegance of our party.

As long as we are united, it is only a matter of time before Yan'an is exchanged for a national victory.

Figure 9, that heroic spirit, how calm! On March 19, 1947, when the morning light was slightly dewed, Hu Zongnan led his troops to "capture" the empty city of Yan'an. At the same time, he sent a "good news" to his brother Jiang: the First Brigade successfully occupied Yan'an on the morning of the 19th, killing more than 16,000 people and capturing more than 10,000 people in this battle!

Lao Jiang was overjoyed when he heard the news, and immediately ordered all the propaganda mouthpieces to start publicizing the "victory in northern Shaanxi." The streets of Nanjing were even more decorated with lights and firecrackers.

Although Chiang Kai-shek's trip to Yan'an was a success and Hu Zongnan's obsession was realized, he was just relieved that the reporters in Nanjing presented him with a new challenge.

Northern Shaanxi was victorious, and reporters couldn't wait to apply to go to Yan'an for battlefield interviews. After Hu Zongnan heard the news, he began to feel nervous. He knew that his lying military exploits might be exposed, which was a great crime!

However, his subordinates came up with a bad idea: build 10 "prisoner of war camps" in Yan'an, capture hundreds of civilians, and find more than 1,000 soldiers to make up the number of prisoners.

Hu Zongnan nodded with satisfaction, and ordered these "actors" to gather and rehearse according to the style of the People's Liberation Army. He personally checked the rehearsals, and if he found any "actor" nodding at him, he would immediately give him a slap in the face, and then teach the acting skills: to scold Chiang Kai-shek as a thief!

To denounce ** as a looter! Show that you are not afraid of death! Whoever performs well will be promoted! If you don't act well, you'll be shot!

When the reporters arrived, the group of "actors" was exhausted, and after a performance in one camp, they were transported by car to the next. The car carrying the journalist deliberately slowed down and waited for the "actors" to be ready before arriving.

However, even so, there were sharp-eyed journalists who found the flaws, and some of the "captives" seemed to appear in different places in an instant. When questioned by reporters, the "actor" chose to ignore it, not saying a word, just standing there with his eyes open.

In order to solve this problem, Hu Zongnan directly used the "silver bullet" strategy to make the reporters understand, and they started working for money, and wonderful on-site reports flew to Nanjing like snowflakes.

Figure 13 In this context, Lao Jiang is also eager to try. Since 1935, Yan'an, where the leaders were stationed, made him restless, and now, he has finally taken Yan'an, and he must go there to see it to show his "immortal merit" in capturing the "bandit capital".

Knowing that Brother Jiang was coming again, Hu Zongnan hurriedly arranged to transport from Xi'an a high-end bathtub, toilet, sofa, wire bed, Western food ingredients and tableware and other daily necessities.

Then a "welcome team" was organized, because there were a lot of actors needed, and they had to be enthusiastic, so they could only be hired for money, and even artists who told stories and sang big drum books were hired to set off the atmosphere.

As a result, the good Yan'an was made into "Hengdian Film and Television City".

On the morning of August 7, 141947, Chiang Kai-shek flew to Yan'an on the "Meiling" special plane, where he was warmly welcomed by the local people and enjoyed a pot pulp to welcome the grand occasion of the king's division.

After a tiring journey, Lao Jiang first stayed at the new diplomatic hotel on the outskirts of Yan'an, and the next morning he went to visit the lair of his old rival. On the morning of August 8, everyone accompanied Chiang Kai-shek to the former site of the Chinese People's Anti-Japanese Military and Political University.

Lao Jiang is full of interest in this school that has produced many outstanding generals, after all, he once served as the principal.

Figure 15 When he saw those dilapidated caves, Lao Jiang was very surprised. The classrooms are open-air, and the best classrooms don't even have a blackboard, just a large wall blackened with carbon as a blackboard.

There were no tables, just a few small broken wooden stools on the floor. When he thought that opponents like *** and Mr. Zhu had also sat here, he also wanted to experience it.

So, he tried to sit down, but he was used to the fact that the body of the sofa chair could not be controlled after the angle beyond the usual sitting position, and he ended up sitting on the ground with his butt very embarrassed.

The stool on which *** used to sit on Figure 16 is no longer able to sit on it. The entourage hurriedly helped the leader up and dusted him away. Standing outside the classroom, Lao Jiang only saw a few worn-out wooden stakes and traces of ropes on the hillside next to him, and felt like a training ground.

After the confirmation of his entourage, he sighed: His Whampoa Military Academy has first-class facilities, and the teaching and training equipment is also the top in China, but why can't the trained students beat the Communist Party from the cave?

Lao Jiang said to his entourage: "* Surviving in a difficult environment, the combat effectiveness should not be underestimated, and it is worth learning from. "He's a reasonable man. At the next stop, he came to visit the jujube orchard where his long-admired old rival *** worked and lived.

When he opened his eyes, he saw a dilapidated cave that was no different from that of ordinary people, hot in summer and cold in winter, and the doors and windows of the cave were made of broken wood, unpainted, and almost rotten.

Stepping into it, the first thing that catches your eye is a clay kang with a few elm planks on it, which is the resting place of his old enemy ***. There is an elm table next to the door, which is full of unevenness due to long-term use.

Figure 19: Lao Jiang is meditating in the ** Mansion, and the palatial office space and floor heating have long been fully equipped. However, his old adversary lived in harsh conditions, and even his own toilet was rudimentary, not to mention having to command the army against the Japanese

Surprisingly, his old opponent also wrote a number of sharp articles on this table, accusing him. Lao Jiang suddenly saw a wooden machine under the jujube tree outside the door, he walked up to him curiously and asked Hu Zongnan beside him what this was.

Hu Zongnan hurriedly replied: "This is a spinning wheel." In the army besieging Yan'an, we are short of materials, and the 'bandit leaders' also need to spin yarn by themselves. ”

Lao Jiang lives in a bungalow and eats Western food, which is far from ordinary people. He heard that *** had used a spinning wheel, and he was a little unconvinced, so he tried it himself. Unexpectedly, he was pricked by the wooden rocker, so he had to let go.

Lao Chiang was determined to gain a deeper understanding of people's lives, hoping to find out the weaknesses of his opponents. In the field, he asked an old farmer about his opponent, and he was very kind.

An old farmer once told Lao Jiang that he had eaten dates at his house and would pay for them every time. And, like ordinary soldiers, they wore shabby military uniforms with many patches on them.

He would also give them lectures on the revolution from time to time. Lao Jiang listened and was silent. "Northern Shaanxi victory"Is it true? Was the welcoming crowd he saw real?

Lao Jiang already had the answer in his heart, but he didn't want to admit it. As night fell, Hu Zongnan suggested that Lao Jiang go back to the hotel to rest. However, Lao Jiang gave him a meaningful look and rejected his offer.

He decided to spend the night in the cave of his old rival.

On the night in Figure 22, Lao Jiang was lying on a bare bed, making a creaking sound every time he turned over, making it difficult to sleep. He was thinking about the future ending, and he already had a sense of foreboding in his heart.

He regretted coming to Yan'an, and the fear of failure hung over him like a shadow. His opponent is clever, and he understands that whoever wins the hearts of the people wins the world, but has he done it?

Early in the morning, Lao Jiang left Yan'an, and his back looked lonely and helpless.

Figure 23, his first and last foot in Yan'an. In April 1948, the Chinese People's Liberation Army successfully recaptured Yan'an, heralding the fall of the Kuomintang regime.

In December 1949, Chiang Kai-shek fled to Taiwan, and like a black satire, a rabble staged a modern version of "the emperor's new clothes".

If a regime can only be maintained by deception, and if a regime cannot be closely connected with the people, then it will be a tragedy for the Chinese nation.

However, fortunately, such an absurd and shameless regime was eventually ruthlessly abandoned by history and the people.

History has proved that the great Communist Party of China has always put the interests of the people first, led the Chinese people to overthrow the oppression of feudalism, imperialism and bureaucratic capitalism, and made the people truly the masters of the country.

This spirit of "serving the people" will be passed on forever, so that our country will always be young!
