"Building and making good use of the national smart education platform is a key move in China's education digitalization strategy, which provides a feasible path for the digital transformation of global education. During the 2024 World Digital Education Conference, Cao Peijie, deputy director of the Institute of Digital Education of the Chinese Academy of Education Sciences, said in an interview with reporters.
In 2022, the Ministry of Education fully implemented the national education digitalization strategy and launched the national smart education platform. Cao Peijie said that the national platform has continuously enriched the supply of high-quality educational resources, expanded the application of educational functions, and continued to iterate and upgrade, providing a "one-stop" service for teachers, students and social learners, driving China's education digitalization from concept establishment to a new stage of practice and innovation.
By the end of 2023, the cumulative number of registered users of the national smart education platform has exceeded 100 million, with more than 36.7 billion views and 2.5 billion visitors. In this regard, Cao Peijie believes that by integrating social forces, building a national education platform, and using this as a starting point to promote the digital transformation of education, a road of digital education development with Chinese characteristics has been embarked, and Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions have been provided for countries around the world to promote the digitalization of education.
Cao Peijie introduced that in order to further deepen the application of the national smart education platform, the expert team of the Chinese Academy of Education Sciences adheres to the concept of "connection first, content first, cooperation first" and the principle of "application is king, service first, concise and efficient, and safe operation", and has formed the "National Smart Education Platform Application Standard Framework" including 4 first-level dimensions, 12 second-level dimensions and 29 observation points including extensive connection, innovative application, mechanism guarantee, and literacy improvement. Among them, extensive connection is the foundation, and for the digitalization of education, connection is power, so that many typical applications, resource content and other "pearls" can be strung into a "necklace". Innovative application is the key, good use is the real ability, inseparable from the last word, to empower the transformation of digital education with innovative application of the platform. Mechanism guarantee is the support, and the effective measures in terms of organizational leadership, supervision and incentives, and support and guarantee are solidified into a long-term mechanism to ensure the steady and long-term development of education digitalization. Literacy improvement is the goal, the core of the digital transformation of education is the digital transformation of people, and improving the literacy of students, teachers and managers is the fundamental purpose of the platform application.
