Defending champion and top seed Svitek defeated third seed Rybakina 7-6(8) 6-2 in the Women's Singles final at WTA1000 in Doha last night, making it three wins in a row.
In the first set, Rybakina showed good athletic form from the start, breaking twice to take a 4-1 lead over Svetek. But in the 6th game, on her own serve, Rybakina accidentally hit her own calf and bled out. This will have to apply for a medical suspension to deal with.
